Week Two Update
Dear Rowe Families,
What a fantastic second week of school! Our students are already engaging in math games, literacy activities, and hands-on learning experiences. It’s been wonderful to see their curiosity and teamwork shine in classrooms.
At the same time, our fall assessments are underway. These assessments help us better understand each student’s strengths and areas where they may need extra support, allowing us to tailor learning to meet their individual needs.
We truly value the partnership with our families and are so glad you are part of our school community. Thank you for supporting your child’s learning journey—it’s going to be a great year!
Your partners at Rowe,
Joe and Melissa

The Big Five and Bus Safety Practice
This week, all our students participated in bus safety practice. We learned and reviewed the Big 5 Expectations for Riding the Bus:
-
Sit down and face forward
-
Talk quietly and use headphones for music
-
Keep your hands and feet to yourself
-
No eating or drinking
-
Clean up your trash and don’t write on the seats
After reviewing the Big 5, students practiced safely evacuating the bus. A huge thank you to our outstanding Transportation Department for teaching us how to be safe and respectful riders!
Art Update
Dear Rowe families,
Thank you for a wonderful start to the school year. I am so grateful to all of you being part of our Rowe community. It's been a pleasure to see many returning students and meet new friends too. Art class is off to a smooth start with lots of excitement for the school year ahead.
In students' first class we answered the questions, "What is art?" and, "What do we do in the art room?" We also discussed how to think of an idea and create a plan for art making. Next week, grades 2-5 will make portfolios to store their art work throughout the year. Grades K-1 read the book, The Big Umbrella and are drawing pictures to go with the story. Ask your child, "Who is under your umbrella?"
Thank you to everyone that has sent in donations and materials. Your thoughtfulness and generosity are appreciated. If you'd like to contribute art supplies you can make a donation via Donor's Choose or my Amazon Wish List, both are linked below.
We can use glue sticks, pencils, washable markers, scotch tape, pink erasers, white board makers, yarn, drawing paper and (inexpensive) watercolor paper, pony beads, pipe cleaners and folders. Feel free to send new materials to school with your student(s). There is no expectation for you to do this unless you'd like to and can.
I hope everyone had a safe, fun summer. Please reach out to me with any questions you may have.
With gratitude,
Jean Rank
