Learning
We are so proud of the learning and engagement happening in our classrooms! Our students are staying actively involved by writing and talking about their learning each day.
Tree Campus
Last year, our 3rd graders helped plant seven trees on Liberty grounds and learned how to care for them. Thanks to their efforts, Liberty earned the Tree Campus Award from the Arbor Day Foundation. Thank you to all students and staff who made this possible!
School Safety
Parents should not come inside the school in the morning to walk students to class or talk to teachers. This helps us make sure we know who is in the building at all times and allows teachers to use their full instructional time without interruptions.
Exceptions:
Only parents with special permission or Pre-K parents may enter. Pre-K parents must always wear the badges given to them by the office.
All other students should be dropped off and released at the front door.
Student of the Month
Congratulations to our Students of the Month! 🎉
We’re so proud of you for being safe, thoughtful, and determined each day. Keep up the great work!
30 Ways to Say Yay
Mrs. Martinez is a wonderful example of leadership and dedication at Liberty. People often say she is a great team leader, and it’s easy to see why. She shows patience and encouragement, especially as colleagues get back into their teaching routines and learn Liberty’s procedures. Mrs. Martinez sets high expectations for her students both academically and socially, always working hard to ensure their success. Beyond her classroom, she generously supports staff across the building and even gives her time to lead a robotics club for our students. We are truly fortunate to have her as part of our Liberty family!
Liberty Fundraiser – Let’s Get Our Mascot!
We are still in the process of finalizing the totals from our recent fundraising event. As soon as we have the final numbers, we will share them with everyone. Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm—it truly makes a difference!
Agendas
This year, all students have an agenda to record their daily learning goals and to communicate with you. Please make sure to check your child’s agenda each day, sign it, and ask them questions about what they are learning.
PTO- Parent Teacher Organization
Liberty PTO is working to support our students. Here are ways families can help:
Raising Cane’s Fundraiser: Tuesday, November 18, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. at 50th & L Street. A flyer will be sent home soon. Part of the sales will support school activities, clubs, and events.
Liberty T-shirts: Show school pride all year with a Liberty t-shirt. To buy one, please contact the PTO at ptolibertystars@gmail.com or your teacher.
Snack Cart Donations: Teachers buy snacks to raise money for events. We appreciat donations like sodas, chips, chocolate candy, and more. Please drop them off at the office.
Thank you for supporting our school!
School Cell Phone Expectations
Cell Phone and Electronic Device Reminder (now OPS Policy and NE LB 140)
Research shows that using cell phones and social media can hurt students' mental health and make it hard to focus in school. Because of this, students are not allowed to use cell phones or other personal electronic devices (PEDs) during the school day.
Students must turn in their cell phones to their teacher at the start of the day. Phones will be returned at dismissal.
If a student is seen using a phone or device during the day, they will be asked to turn it in. It will be kept in the front office and the student can pick it up at the end of the day.
If this keeps happening, a parent or guardian will need to come pick up the device.
