Attention Clarenceville Families!
The United States Naval Sea Cadet Corp—Trojan Division has been approved by the district!
The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps is a nationwide organization dedicated to helping American youth realize personal success and achievement through a nautically oriented training program. Our core values are honor, respect, commitment, and service and are instilled with an appreciation for our sea services.
As a reminder: The United States Naval Sea Cadets has no enlistment requirements. Our goal with this group is to help build kind, respectful, productive citizens for our country. I have had equal numbers of cadets enlisting into a branch of service as those that have decided the military is not a path they wish to follow. I am happy with both!
Those that wish to pursue the military may have monetary benefits upon graduation from our organization (may enter up to an E-3 pay grade). Those that wish to enter college (Sea Cadets is an excellent addition on college applications) or the workforce (potential employers know the traits of their potential employees who are now coming to them with good work ethics, confidence, customer service skills, etc) also have advantages from being a Sea Cadet.
I am so excited to bring this organization to our school district and look forward to working in partnership with families to instill a relentless pursuit of excellence in our students!

**FOOD SERVICES ANNOUNCEMENT
Hello Clarenceville High School Families,
On Monday, October 17th, the food service department will be opening the two cash registers in the high school serving area. To clarify, all meals will still remain FREE. The purpose for opening up the cash registers is to capture which students are eating in the cafeteria as well as to allow students to purchase additional menu items in addition to their free reimbursable meal. For example, if a student wants an extra slice of pizza in addition to their free meal, they are now able to pay for that a la carte item (the pizza). If a student wants an extra milk, they can now pay for that extra milk, etc. In order to do this, students MUST have money in their accounts to purchase additional items. Families can add money to the accounts a couple of different ways: via their MISTAR Parent Portal, in the main office, OR directly to the cashier/food service department. The food service department will not be allowed to give students extra items if there is no money available to the student in their accounts.
Again, all breakfast and lunch meals remain FREE.
Please reach out to the Director of Food Service, Tim Connors, RD, for any further questions/concerns. 248-919-0219.
Title IX Information
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”), 20 U.S.C. §1681 et seq., is a Federal civil rights law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs and activities. All public and private elementary and secondary schools, school districts, colleges, and universities (hereinafter “schools”) receiving any Federal funds must comply with Title IX. Under Title IX, discrimination on the basis of sex can include sexual harassment or sexual violence, such as rape, sexual assault, sexual battery, and sexual coercion.
Below is additional information regarding the specific requirements of Title IX as they pertain to sexual harassment and sexual violence.
What are a school’s responsibilities to address sexual harassment and sexual violence?
- A school has a responsibility to respond promptly and effectively. If a school knows or reasonably should know about sexual harassment or sexual violence that creates a hostile environment, the school must take immediate action to eliminate the sexual harassment or sexual violence, prevent its recurrence, and address its effects.
- Even if a student or his or her parent does not want to file a complaint or does not request that the school take any action on the student’s behalf, if a school knows or reasonably should know about possible sexual harassment or sexual violence, it must promptly investigate to determine what occurred and then take appropriate steps to resolve the situation.
- A criminal investigation into allegations of sexual harassment or sexual violence does not relieve the school of its duty under Title IX to resolve complaints promptly and equitably.
Every School Must Have And Distribute A Policy Against Sex Discrimination
- Title IX requires that each school publish a policy that it does not discriminate on the basis of sex in its educational programs and activities. This notice must be widely distributed and available on an ongoing basis.
- The policy must state that inquiries concerning Title IX may be referred to the school’s Title IX coordinator or to OCR.
The Clarenceville School District Title IX Policy is located on the District Website at
