Summer Message from Principal
I first want to congratulate our fourth grade students on Move Up Day and their graduation from elementary school! Students will be attending Carl Sandburg and Maple Point in August, so we wish them lots of luck and perseverance as they navigate the many new paths they will be following in middle school and beyond!
Summer is a time to rest, relax, and enjoy family and friends. Whether your summer is spent at the beach, visiting family in another state, or simply reading a good book, I encourage all of our students to reflect on their year. Are you proud of your efforts this year? What goals would you like to set for yourself next year? What characteristics are you looking for in a new friend? What goals could you set for your schoolwork?
In addition to reflecting, I'd like to encourage you to READ, READ, READ! I challenge you to finish 2-3 books a week and take your imagination on a journey this summer. Remember that reading teaches, expands our minds, enriches our lives, shapes our dreams, opens doors, and inspires us to become who we are. Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body. So be sure to keep your mind and your body active this summer!
I also wanted to say thank you to all the Albert Schweitzer families for the support you provide to your children every day. It is through our collaborative efforts that we can provide our children with a future that holds endless opportunities. Thank you to the Schweitzer PTO, Board members, and parent volunteers that helped with many school events throughout the year. We couldn't do this without you. And to our stellar staff, thank you for all that you do each day to make Albert Schweitzer a fun and engaging place to learn.
Have a safe and relaxing summer!

Title I Summer Reading Event, PRC Event, and Kona with a Cop
Our two building Reading Specialists, Ms. Maurizi and Miss d'Entremont, led a summer-themed Title I reading event that highlighted ways to support your child in reading, writing and thinking over the summer months. All participants received a bag of summer literacy swag, compliments of Albert Schweitzer Title 1.
Staff representatives were also available to highlight resources in the Parent Resource Center (PRC). Officer Melissa Robison from the Middletown Police Department was here to provide fingerprinting and IDs for children, and the Levittown Branch of the Bucks County Library was here to provide information on summer programs. Everyone was welcome to enjoy Kona Ice on the way out, compliments of the Albert Schweitzer PTO!
