Growing Together @ STL

It was an amazing evening, and WOW our community looks great when we all dress up! Friday night's Spring Formal Dance was a huge hit! Check out the pictures in our Community Engagement section!

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers who made the evening possible; to our dedicated School Council for their hard work, organization and the beautiful decorations! Thank you to our grade 7&8 class who help set up tables and chairs, and helped with the clean up. Thank you to our two DJs! And thank you to every one of our families, staff and students who chose to spend a Friday night with us . Oh what a night!

It continues to be fantastic watching children play outside in the forest and with each other. They are solving problems, engineering their forts, reinforcing them, expanding them, rebuilding - collaboratively, cooperatively and with joy!

We now have forts with four rooms, others are held up by a small yet mighty "cornerstone" and others whose walls continue to be reinforced for a great place to hide during Mantracker!

With the passing of our blessed pope, Pope Francis, the process for selecting a new pope will begin next week.

So, what is Conclave? At our GIFT assembly this week, we learned about Conclave. Check out the video we watched together at our Faith assembly.

Thank you for choosing St. Luke Catholic School and Catholic Education!

With abundant gratitude,

Mme Gravelle

An opportunity to support Catholic Education is getting closer!

The REAL Foundation raises money through our annual Golf Tournament and other fundraising activities to support faith enrichment opportunities in all Elk Island Catholic Schools. Some of the extracurricular activities that we fund to help students develop a lifelong commitment to their faith, include:

• Catholic religious education IN-SERVICES and training for students/teachers

• Special presentations/Guest speakers (Learn More)

• Conferences on student leadership and faith formation

• Religious retreats

• Enhanced academic experiences related to religious education

Our goal is to create a fund that supports the various faith enrichment opportunities and a fund large enough to sustainably enable ongoing scholarship awards .

💜💜We hatched chicks with our 2/3 class and are awaiting the arrival of our ducklings next. A community member has taken the chicks to raise them on their farm and they already have a very involved "mama" to snuggle with 💜💜

As the weather improves we will play outside more and more! And with the weather comes the bugs. Thank you for keeping your eyes open for signs of or reactions to ticks, insect bites or stings.

Be You Day
(In conjunction with Hats On for Mental Health)

On Wednesday, May 7 we’re celebrating Hats on for Mental Health & Be You Day!
In support of Hats On for Mental Health, students and staff are invited to wear a hat — and to dress in a way that shows off who they are.

Whether it's your favorite sports team, a hobby you love, a color that makes you happy, or something that expresses your unique style — we encourage everyone to celebrate what makes them YOU!

• Wear a hat you love.
• Show your passions through your clothing.
• Celebrate individuality, creativity, and self-expression!

Together, we can raise awareness for mental health and remind each other that being yourself is one of the best things you can be.
