Our Core Values- Honesty Our Core Values- Honesty

Our society talks about being your "authentic self" and being "true to yourself" a lot. But God's Word tells us real truth is grounded in love and our identity in Christ, not our own nature. Ephesians 4 talks about believers who are tossed around by every new idea, so, in verse 15, we are encouraged, "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ"

Honesty is more than just avoiding lies. It is living according to the principles that we know to be true based on God's Word. Interestingly, this type of honesty with ourselves and the world around us has a surprising side effect--unity:

Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. -Ephesians 4:25

STEAM

One of the exciting additions to our school this year is STEAM and it is quickly becoming a favorite among our students! Taught by Mrs. Baxter, STEAM gives students opportunities to learn through hands-on activities while developing creativity, critical thinking, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Rather than learning these areas separately, STEAM encourages students to connect what they are learning and apply it to real-world problems and challenges. The addition of the Arts also encourages students to use creativity and innovative thinking as they explore and solve problems.

Recently, our students have been exploring coding. Coding is essentially the process of creating step-by-step instructions that tell a computer what to do. As students learn to code, they practice breaking problems into smaller steps, recognizing patterns, thinking logically, testing their ideas, and making corrections when something doesn't work as planned.

We are excited to see where Mrs. Baxter and our students' STEAM adventures take them throughout the year!

Fun Run Extravaganza

The Fun Run Extravaganza week is here! We've reached 79% of our $75,000 Fun Run goal! Help us cross the finish line this week by sharing your student's 99Pledges page with family, friends, and coworkers! Every donation makes a difference! Remember, all high schoolers who raise $50 will be able to get out of class for the day to help with the Fun Run Extravaganza on Friday! Cash and check donations may be sent in with your student or brought to the school office, and they will count toward individual prizes. Click on the button below to see a schedule showing when your child will participate in the Fun Run this Friday. Normal class schedule will resume after the Fun Run.
