Dear Fisler Families,

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I hope everyone had a wonderful summer filled with time to rest, recharge, and enjoy family and friends. My family enjoyed a summer close to home, watching the World Cup and getting our oldest son ready to begin college. It was a special summer for our family, and I am now so excited to welcome our students back for the first day of school.

This year is especially meaningful to me as I begin my 25th year in education. I continue to feel incredibly fortunate to serve as the principal of Fisler and to be part of such a caring, innovative, and dedicated school community.

There is so much to celebrate at Fisler. We are proud to be recognized as a Top 100 school by U.S. News & World Report, a California Distinguished School, a National Blue Ribbon School, a California School to Watch, and a National School to Watch. These honors reflect the hard work of our students, staff, families, and community.

This summer, the Fullerton School District Board of Trustees approved a new Arts and Recreation Center, or ARC, for Fisler. We will partner with the original architect who designed Fisler in 2004 to ensure that the new building complements our campus and reflects Fisler’s distinctive aesthetic. In the coming weeks, we will invite staff members, parents, students, and community members to join a stakeholder committee and provide input throughout the planning process. Please stay tuned for more information about how you can get involved.

Fisler is a truly unique school. We serve students across 10 grade levels, beginning in transitional kindergarten and continuing through eighth grade. While our students range from TK through middle school, their learning opportunities span from early childhood through college-level coursework. Our GATE program begins in third grade, and by eighth grade, students may have the opportunity to take two Advanced Placement courses: AP Computer Science and AP English Language.

The beginning of a new school year is always filled with joy, possibility, and excitement. It is a fresh start and an opportunity for our students to reconnect with friends, meet new teachers, explore new interests, and continue growing as learners and leaders.

We are also excited to welcome several new staff members to the Fisler family. Click HERE for an introduction to our new staff. We celebrated a number of beloved employees who retired last year, and our TK program has expanded to serve more of our youngest learners. Our new team members bring wonderful experience and enthusiasm to our school community, and we look forward to a new school year together.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. I cannot wait to see our students back on campus and begin another joyful and successful year together. Please check out the first day of school's bell schedule below. We will see all of our Navigator's back at school on Monday, Aug.10th.

Warmly,

Caroline Llewellyn, Ed.D.

Free Breakfast

Free breakfast is available every school day from 7:30–7:55 a.m. in the cafeteria.

  • Middle School (Grades 6–8): Students are encouraged to arrive by 7:35 a.m. to allow enough time to eat before class begins.

  • Elementary (TK–5): Students should arrive by 7:45 a.m. so they have time to enjoy breakfast, sit with friends, and arrive in class before the 8:00 a.m. bell.

We encourage all students to take advantage of this free, healthy breakfast to start their day ready to learn.

Parking Lot and Traffic Rules

Within our parking lot, we have a yellow unloading/loading zone to drop off and pick up students.

  1. In the yellow zone, we have signs to alert parents to pull all the way up in the loading zone. Please follow this expectation so everyone has room to pull up and help get their child to school safely and on time. The yellow zone is the ONLY place to drop off your child. PLEASE do not park in this area.

  2. No stopping in the red curb zone.

  3. Please slow down when entering the parking lot.

    1. Be careful when approaching our crosswalk by the office.

    2. Please follow the 10 mph speed limit in our parking lot

  4. Please be aware that the Fullerton Police Dept. frequents our area in the morning due to three schools in close proximity, so please follow all traffic laws

  5. Use the crosswalk

Using the Starbuck Street Loading/Unloading Zone

This is an additional area where parents can drop-off their students. This is a NO PARKING zone. Parents must drop off students and exit as soon as possible so that other parents can also drop off their children. U-turns are illegal on Starbuck Street. Please do not do illegal U-turns when exiting the loading zone. Thank you for adhering to the traffic laws.

Please be advised that the Fullerton Police Department will be frequently sending officers to patrol the area.

Safety for our families is our #1 concern. Please help us by being safe around our school.

Fisler Parent/Student Handbook

Please review the information in the Fisler Parent/Student School Policy Handbook 2026-2027. It is important to review the Parent/Student Handbook as it contains information on many areas such as campus hours, lunch and food service, laptop rules and guidelines, dress code, and many more topics to answer any questions you may have. A lot of questions can be answered by reviewing this document with your child. Feel free to reach out to us if you need more information.

PTSA

Hello, Fisler Families!

Welcome back to a new school year! I know many of us are excited to get back into our school routines, while others may be wishing summer could last just a little longer—especially those carefree days of not having to think about packing lunches!

My name is Helen Won, and I am honored to serve as your PTSA President this year. I am excited to work alongside Dr. Llewellyn, our PTSA board members and committee chairs, our incredible teachers and staff, and all of our Fisler families to make this an amazing year for our students.

I'm also happy to share that Christine Kim and Carol Choi will be serving as our Co–Vice Presidents this year. Together, we have many exciting events planned, and we can't wait to share them with you.

Be sure to check our Sunday newsletters throughout the year for important announcements, upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and school updates.

Enjoy these last few days of summer, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on the first day of school. Here's to a fantastic school year!

F²AST

Hello Fisler Families,

Welcome all new and returning families! We hope everyone had a wonderful summer break! The beginning of the school year is always a little bittersweet. Many kiddos aren't quite ready to give up their summertime fun, but most parents are fully ready to get their kids back in school and off their hands. (Sorry, teachers.) Thank you to our school faculty and staff who are already working diligently to prepare for the new school year. To make life a little easier for us parents, please be sure to check out this Sunday newsletter every week. The Fisler administrative team and our two parent volunteer groups, PTSA and F²AST (Fisler Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Technology), do our best to keep you informed of the happenings at school.

For those who are new to our school, the Fisler Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Technology (F²AST) is composed of teachers, administrators, and parents, both past and present, who are committed to supporting and cultivating the teaching and learning of science and technology at Robert C. Fisler School. Please let me introduce the F²AST executive board for the 2026-2027 academic year:

President - Glen Gigstead

Vice President - Joyal Desai

Recording Secretary - Amy Neumann

Treasurer - Ellen Nguyen

Financial Secretary - Grace Lee

If you would like to learn more about what F²AST does for our school, our first board meeting will be held on Tuesday, August 25 via Zoom. Meeting info to come.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon. We hope you all get a chance to enjoy the last week of summer break!

All the best,

Ellen and the F²AST Family
