Working with Waffles

An Intro to Foods student wanted to learn how to make waffles so Mrs. Lehrke reached out to an expert-- Mrs. Schaefer!--who gave up her prep time to teach the class about the consistency of the perfect waffle batter and gave them several helpful hints on using the variety of waffle irons that are in the cooking lab. Additionally, during her presentation, she gave students many examples of physics in the kitchen! The students then took their new skills to master their own perfect batter and golden waffles this week.

Nice temperatures and sunny days can make staying inside to learn tough for both teachers and students. Ms. Cha's Algebra I students took their practice to the sun earlier this week.
