Bulldog Bulletin
April 26, 2024
Hello, Sarah Adams families,
Thank you so much to all of our families, students, and sponsors who came out to our Earth Day Event last week! While the weather may not have cooperated with us, we still enjoyed learning about the many ways that we can work together to support our Earth. It was a fun event and very well-attended!
Last week we also welcomed author, Sarah Weeks to visit our students. She took time to read from a few of her books as well as tell our students about her work as an author. It was such a fun day learning more about her writing process as well as seeing how she inspired our students. Thank you to the District 95 Foundation for bringing Sarah Weeks to our school! Another thank you goes to Ms. Szarek who helped to orchestrate all the details of her visit and the book signings available for students.
As the school year winds down please know that the last day for book checkout in the Sarah Adams Library will be Friday, May 3. PLEASE be sure to remind your student to return all their library books by Friday, May 11. After that date, we will begin sending home overdue notices. Any books not returned by Wednesday, May 22 will be considered lost, and the cost of the book will be put in your student’s PushCoin account for payment. Please contact Ms. Szarek (liz.szarek@lz95.org) with any questions. Thank you!
While we are getting close to the end of the year, we are still reminding our students to bring their #BulldogBest every day; this means showing respectful, responsible, safe and kind behavior to our peers and adults. We are proud of our students' hard work so far this year!
Fondly,
Colleen Conway
Assignments for 24-25 School Year
This is the time of year where our staff will begin the process of student/teacher assignments for the 2024– 2025 school year. The entire staff plays a role in this process, as we work to place each of the children into the very best setting. We consider learning styles, student personalities, girl/boy ratio, class size, and student academic strengths and needs, all while striving for a heterogeneous class make-up (full range of abilities).
If you would like to share something about your child’s learning style or personality that would help us with this placement process, please submit your letter to Ms. Conway no later than April 30th, 2024. We trust that you will rely on our professional judgment, as we group each of the children with the idea of creating the best learning environment possible for everyone. With that being said, requesting particular teachers will not be accepted.
Registration for the 24-25 School Year
Online registration for returning students for the 2024-25 school year is now open. It is important for you to register your child for next school year as soon as possible since the district uses this information to determine the number of teachers and classes we will need at each school. If your child is not returning for the next school year, please notify the school office as soon as possible. Fees will not be available for payment in PushCoin until late April.
