The New Prague Area School Board has selected Andy Vollmuth as the next superintendent of New Prague Area Schools. This will be effective July 1, 2023. The decision comes after a thorough and expansive search under guidance from South Central Cooperative Services.

Mr. Vollmuth is currently principal at Normandale Elementary in Bloomington, Minnesota. Mr. Vollmuth has held this position since 2007 and previously was a K-8 principal in Rochester, Minnesota. Prior to obtaining his administrative experiences, he was an elementary and middle school teacher. In addition to his current role as elementary principal, Mr. Vollmuth is also an instructor for higher education at Concordia University, University of Minnesota and University of Saint Thomas.

Mr. Vollmuth earned a Doctorate of Education from the University of Saint Thomas, a Master’s in Education from Saint Mary’s University and Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education and business from Concordia College.

Mr. Vollmuth and his wife, Jodi, also an educator, have three children. Andy currently serves on the Board of Directors for Faith’s Lodge, serves as an active youth coach and volunteers for the Oasis for Youth non-profit organization.

Board members interviewed two finalists on February 27 and 28. Current Superintendent Tim Dittberner is retiring effective June 30, 2023.
