Halloween Updates
The weather is looking good for our annual costume parade that will begin at 2:45. Parents should position themselves along the sidewalk in the front of the building between Hyatt's main entrance and the north corner of ECC. The parade route will take the children out of our recess door, down the sidewalk around ECC, and along the front of the schools to Hyatt's main entrance. Families must check in at the office before attending any classroom activities. Below are a few reminders to help keep everyone in the loop regarding expectations and activities for Thursday, October 31st. Please contact your child's teacher or the office with any questions.
- Children may wear their costumes to school; however, masks will only be worn during the parade.
- Face paint dries out the skin and will likely become an irritant as the day progresses, so it is recommended that you save this portion of the costume for trick-or-treating at home.
- Leave any "weapon like" accessories at home.
- Please only send in store bought treats due to possible food related allergies
- Families are welcome to come and take pictures of their child. If you decide to take your child home afterwards, please make sure you stop by the office first to sign them out.

Attendance Matters!
Although school attendance may occasionally be impacted by family obligations, vacations, and seasonal illness, attendance remains the most critical factor in school success. While we will continue to celebrate and encourage "family time," please keep school attendance a priority for your children. Developing routines and embedding expectations at a young age lends itself to improved health and success. Not to mention, we love to see your children every day as they add to discussions, strengthen each other's thinking and learning, and are part of the essence that makes Hyatt Elementary special!

News from Officer Williams
Halloween is just around the corner and it is an exciting time for children across our community. If you are planning on an evening of trick or treating, I would encourage you to discuss your expectations to help you all have a safe and enjoyable time together. Here are a few tips that you may want to consider before you head out:
- Always walk on sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic as close to the curb as possible.
- Look left, right and left again when crossing the street.
- Have your child carry a glow stick or flashlight to help them see and be seen.
- Put electronic devices down. Keep your head up and walk; don’t run across the street.
- Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape
- Only go to houses with porch lights on and NEVER GO INSIDE.
- Parents should inspect all treats before the children eat them.
News from Nurse Loynes
Nurse Danielle Loynes is hard at work keeping the children of Hyatt Elementary safe and healthy every day. From caring for little injuries to managing health plans, she’s always here to support our students and help them thrive!

Visitors and Volunteers
Passes for visitors and volunteers are available in the office and provided once you have signed-in and should be worn at all times. This supports identification and supports building supervision. Appointments may be initiated by the parent or guardian and/or the school.
Volunteering at Hyatt Elementary is encouraged, as your time and efforts are greatly appreciated! All volunteers must have a background check completed before they may volunteer. If you are wanting to volunteer, you can pick up an ICHAT form in the office or click on the link below. Forms must be competed for each semester of the school year. Please remember photographs of other children are not permitted. If you have any questions or concerns, please share them with a staff member.

Hyatt Elementary utilizes our website as a means of communication. Please visit our web page regularly at www.lindenschools.org.
