STUDENT ROSTER INPUT FORM
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Even though the snow is flying, spring is upon us! Attached to this email is a student roster placement form for the 23-24 school year. We have tweaked our process of creating rosters. We seek any input you may have, but please know you are unable to request a teacher. Please ensure you give us your feedback now. Once rosters are developed and teachers are assigned, no requests to have a child moved to another class will be approved. NOTE: Information has to be shared annually regarding any student or teacher conflicts with your child.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Smarter Balanced Interim Assessment
Preparations are being made for the annual state assessment which is given to all third and fourth students. Students will be assessed in the areas of English Language Arts and math. Students will be taking this assessment in April. Delivered entirely online, the South Dakota assessment offers students the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge in a variety of ways. The test results provide a more meaningful picture of what the students know and can do. It is important to remember that your child’s score on the state assessment only reflects their performance at one moment in time. Throughout the school year, your student’s teacher is continually measuring his/her progress through a variety of methods.
DRESS FOR RECESS
Please remember that kiddos go out to recess if the Wind Chill (Feels-like temperature) is 0 or above. Please make sure your students are coming prepared for recess with boots, hats, gloves, and winter coats.

SPRING MUSIC CONCERT
Dear Parents,
We are gearing for the Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade Spring Concert. Your kiddos are working so hard and are sounding great.
This concert will be held at Stagebarn Middle School on March 23 with the specific times below. Parking is going to be our greatest challenge. We as a staff are aware of the situation and are trying to mitigate it before we get to the night of March 23.
There will be limited parking space at Stagebarn, so, if possible, please car pool. To also help with parking issues, there will be two shuttle vans providing transportation to and from the Our Lady of the Black Hills Church (overflow parking). Your patience is appreciated.
Your students should arrive 10 minutes prior to the performance. That time is used getting students in their line up order and taking care of any bathroom break.
Show Times:
1st Grade: 5:00 - 5:30
Kindergarten: 5:45 - 6:15
2nd Grade: 6:30 - 7:00
