Killam Principal's Corner
July 27th, 2026
A Note from Principal Fulton 🚌🔆
A huge thank you to Sean Lynch for running a very successful Trunk or Treat event today! We also greatly appreciate everyone who donated candy and decorated a trunk to make the trunk a success!
I'd also like to thank Melissa Manganiello and John Yurewicz for volunteering in the lunch room Friday! We couldn't have done it without you!
This Friday is our Fall Parade and assembly. Students can come to school wearing their costumes. Families are welcome to gather on the perimeter of the school for our short, but fun parade in costumes at 9:15 am! You can see the map of the route below.
A few notes for the Fall Parade:
1. If your child should not participate due to religious reasons, please let us know, so we can develop an alternate plan.
2. No masks inside the building, gore, weapons, etc. Masks can be worn during the parade itself.
3. We ask families to stay outside the school building unless you are volunteering for a classroom event after the parade.
A reminder that grade 5 has a field trip to the Museum of Science Wednesday and grade 3 to Parker House on Thursday.
Keep an eye out for Fall Family Conference Sign-ups coming out tomorrow by the end of the day! Please sign up for one time slot for your child's general education teacher. SPED, related service providers, specialists, etc are available as well.
Let's have a great week,
Lindsey Fulton, Principal

4th/5th Grade Math Team🟰➕
For the past nine years, Killam has had a Math Team that participated in Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary and Middle Schools (MOEMS). We are going to run the Math Team again this year for fourth and fifth graders. Here are some notes:
1. We will have Math Team immediately before school on Thursdays from 7:30-8:15 in the library.
2. When there is not a contest, we will work through a set of challenging math problems with the students. We will start by having the students work individually, then they will work in small groups, and finally we will talk about the problems in a large group. Each session will go through about 5 problems.
3. Each month there will be a contest. The contests will consist of the students working independently on 5 questions over 30 minutes. We will go through the answers at the end of the session.
4. The Math Team this year will be led by former Killam Mathletes and current RMHS students Sofia Wolfe and Owen Healy as well as adult leader Brian Healy (who has led the team each of the last nine years).
The first meeting will be November 5, and we will have meetings Thursday mornings each week when there is school until March.
If you are interested, please email Brian Healy (bchealy@partners.org).
Have a great day!
Thanks,
Brian
