AUGUST NEWSLETTER AUGUST NEWSLETTER

Dear Coral Springs Middle School Families,

I hope you have enjoyed a relaxing and fun filled summer break! On behalf of our teachers, staff, and administrative team, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 2026-2027 school year at Coral Springs Middle School. We are excited to welcome back our returning Stallions and extend a warm greeting to our new students and families joining our school community.

As we begin another year of learning and growth, we have so much to celebrate. Coral Springs Middle School has earned an "A" school grade for three consecutive years, a reflection of the dedication, hard work, and commitment of our students, staff, and families. We are equally proud that our school has experienced nearly 15% enrollment growth, demonstrating the confidence our community continues to place in the outstanding educational experiences we provide.

This year, our theme is "To Infinity and Beyond!" Inspired by the limitless potential of our students, this theme reflects our commitment to helping every child reach new heights academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe there are no limits to what our students can achieve when they are supported, challenged, and inspired. At Coral Springs Middle School, our vision is to provide a world-class educational experience that meets the diverse needs of our learners while fostering a culture of inclusion, innovation, and high expectations.

We invite families to become actively involved in our school community through our PTA. The PTA plays an important role in supporting students, recognizing staff, and enhancing the overall middle school experience. We encourage all families to join and partner with us throughout the year. You can become a PTA member by visiting Join Our PTA.

To stay informed about important announcements, events, and resources, please visit our school website regularly at Coral Springs Middle School Website. Strong communication and collaboration between home and school are essential to student success, and we look forward to partnering with you throughout the year.

Thank you for choosing Coral Springs Middle School and entrusting us with your child's education. Together, we will ensure that the learning experience for our scholars is "To infinity and Beyond"!

Important Information About Class Assignments

As we begin the school year, please understand that initial student schedules and class assignments are not final. During the first few weeks of school, enrollment may change as students enroll, withdraw or transfer and staffing is finalized. As a result, adjustments to some schedules or class assignments may be necessary. These decisions are made thoughtfully to balance classes, meet state class-size requirements and ensure students have access to the instruction and courses they need. We recognize that changes can be disappointing, particularly when a student is excited about a specific teacher or class. Our staff will work to make any necessary transitions as smooth as possible while ensuring every student is placed in an environment where they can be successful. Thank you for your patience, flexibility and understanding.

Focus- Student Information System (SIS) and Student Schedules

The Focus Parent Portal is your gateway to staying connected with your student's educational journey in Broward County Public Schools. Parents/guardians with multiple students will be able to access all their students in one place. The portal will allow you to monitor your student's academic progress, stay informed of upcoming school and district events, and allow you to communicate directly with your student's teachers.

To create a new Parent Portal account, you will need a valid email address. Connecting each of your enrolled students will require the following information:

  • Student's full name
  • Student's ID number (begins with ‘06')
  • Student's date of birth

Visit https://www.browardschools.com/focus for details on how to access the Parent Portal.

Student schedules will be available in Focus on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Register to Ride: Register 2 Ride

Get Ready for the New School Year: As the new school year approaches, all eligible students must register for bus transportation. This ensures that each student is assigned to a route, allowing for efficient planning and safety.

  • How to Register: To secure your spot, visit the Register 2 Ride webpage. The registration process is simple and essential for a smooth start to the 2026/27 school year.

  • Important Deadline: Please note that registrations submitted after July 10, 2026, will be processed in the order received.

  • Special Note for ESE Students: If your child is enrolled in an ESE program, they do not need to register through this platform. Instead, reach out directly to your ESE Specialist at the assigned school to arrange transportation services.

  • View your Bus Assignment: Bus Assignments will be available the second week of August via the Focus Parent Portal

Traffic Safety from CSPD

We want to help you become familiar with school traffic expectations, reduce congestion during the first weeks of school, and reinforce safe practices that protect our students, staff, crossing guards, neighbors, and motorists. Attached is a letter from Coral Springs Police Chief Brad Mock outlining important traffic safety expectations for parents, guardians, students, and our surrounding school communities.

As noted in the letter, the Coral Springs Police Department will conduct an educational traffic safety campaign during the first two weeks of school, issuing warnings for most violations while focusing on education and compliance.

ID badge policy: Wear your ID everyday!

The safety and security of our students and staff is always our top priority! Students will not be permitted on campus without their ID. Many students were already issued an ID either Stallion Stampede (6th graders) or Stallion Launch Day. However, we are aware that there are students that still need their ID. There will be ID stations in the front of the school Monday morning (6th grade and "new" students who need their pictures taken- in front of school, 7th grade outside the 7th grade gate on the westside, and 8th grade in front of the courtyard gate. We ask that all students obtain their ID before entering the school on Monday morning.

During the school year, if the student forgets their ID, they will need to go directly to the ID Station to obtainin their ID. Students who forgot their ID will be provided up to 3 temporary Ids for the quarter before being issued a disciplinary consequence. Students will be permitted up to 3 temporary IDs for the quarter before being issued a disciplinary consequence, per the dress code policy and in accordance with the Discipline Matrix. If the student loses their ID, they will be provided one upon request at the ID Station. Students will be issued a $5 obligation after the 4th printed ID.
