AprilNewsletter 2025-2026

April at Long Lake Central School District is a vibrant mix of well-deserved rest and high-energy enrichment. The month begins with a Spring Recess from April 1-10, giving students a chance to recharge—or, in the case of the Travel Club, embark on an international adventure to Costa Rica. Once classes resume, the calendar is packed with career-focused learning, including a Health Career Exploration for grades 7-11 and DEC Safety Presentations for all students. Music also takes center stage this month as students travel to North Warren for the CASMA Spring Festival, rounding out an April dedicated to expanding horizons both inside and outside the classroom.

Anthony perfectly embodies our motto: Inspire Foster Excel. He is a cornerstone of our school culture, bringing energy and compassion to everything he does.

  • Excel: Anthony is a model of dedication. From working concessions at nearly every home basketball game to being a driving force in Student Council, he understands the hard work required to bring ideas to life. He holds himself to the highest standards and consistently goes above and beyond for his peers.

  • Foster: A natural leader, Anthony fosters a supportive environment. He is always the first to help a classmate, offering patience and active listening. His involvement in after-school programs further proves his commitment to our community.

  • Inspire: Anthony inspires others through his resilience, especially in Math class. When challenges arise, he doesn't give up; instead, he asks probing questions and meticulously fixes mistakes. Most importantly, he reassures struggling peers with empathy, saying, "I just did the same thing—it won’t take long to fix."

A huge thank you to Hamilton County and The Adirondack Health Medical Fitness Center in Lake Placid! Due their generosity we are offering a six-week session focused on water safety and skill development for students in grades PK-12. This is a fantastic opportunity for children to build confidence in the water, improve their skills, and enjoy time with their peers at a great facility.

The days are getting warmer, the trees are budding, the sun is shining a little more each day: it's springtime! Sure, summer, fall, and winter are amazing, but spring brings new life into the communities. Wildflowers, flowing waterfalls, the adrenaline rush of whitewater rafting, and migrating birds define spring in Hamilton County. And, best of all, there's still plenty of fun in every corner of the county.
