Reproductive Health Letter/Opt Out Information Reproductive Health Letter/Opt Out Information

The health courses in which all middle school students are currently enrolled will begin teaching units predicated upon human sexuality during this school year. Here is a letter explaining this and it also gives information regarding opting out of these units in health.

Reproductive Health Parent Letter

Please let us know by Friday, September 12 if you will be opting your student out of this portion of our health curriculum.

Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire

We will be administering this year's Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire in the middle school during the week of September 22. Here is an information letter regarding this questionnaire: SDQ Parent Letter

Here is a link to the Questionnaire and the Scoring Key that is used.

If you would like to opt your student out of the SDQ for this school year, please use the form attached in the letter above or email Mrs. Thunberg directly at thunbergj@freelandschools.net by Friday, September 12.

Dress Code Dress Code

Please make sure to review the dress code in the student handbook. We are seeing several students with clothing that does not fit within the guidelines for appropriate school attire. Students continuing to violate the dress code will be called to the office and asked to change clothes. At this point, we have given warnings and asked them not to wear the clothing again but this week we will start having students call for a change in clothes.

Middle School Girls Golf Program Middle School Girls Golf Program

The Freeland Girls Golf Team will be offering a free three day golf program for middle school girls interested in golf or trying golf.

Where: Twin Oaks Golf Course

When: September 26, October 2, and October 3 from 3:30-5:00 pm.

Who: Any girl in 7th or 8th grade

The program will consist of two days of instruction focusing on putting, chipping, and full swing, and the last day we will play 6 holes of scramble golf on teams consisting of a varsity player, a junior varsity player, and a middle school player.

If you cannot make all three dates, that is fine. If you are currently in another sport, just check with your coach to see if you can be excused from team activities.
