💐APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY💐
Dear Luce Road Families,
As we move through this month, we are excited to focus on our character trait of Courage. At Luce Road, courage means trying new things, speaking up, learning from mistakes, and continuing to grow even when something feels hard. We are proud of the ways our Panther Cubs are showing courage each day in their learning and in their relationships with others.
We also want to celebrate the great progress happening across our school. In Kindergarten, we completed our first three week cycle of Tier 2 academic interventions based on our NWEA data, and we have already seen encouraging growth in foundational reading and math skills. In GSRP, students have made strong progress in letter and number recognition while also growing in self regulation through hands on learning, songs, and daily routines. In Childcare, our toddler preschool students have shown meaningful growth in turn taking, sharing, and using their words more appropriately during play.
We are also so grateful for the strong support of our school community. This month, we welcomed over 100 families to our Kindergarten and Preschool Enrollment Night. It was wonderful to see so many families come out to learn more about Luce Road and the exciting journey ahead for our youngest learners.
March was also a joyful time of celebration during March is Reading Month. Our Panther Cubs enjoyed community guest readers, a door decorating contest, and a special visit to the Alma Public Library. These experiences helped make reading come alive for our students and strengthened their love for books and learning.
In addition, Luce Road is still accepting nominations for our Community Nominated Staff of the Week recognition, which continues to remind us just how special our staff truly are. We have received several nominations from the community representing staff from every department in the building, which speaks volumes about the care, dedication, and impact of our team.
Thank you for your continued partnership, support, and trust. Luce Road is a special place because of the strong connection between our school and our families, and we are thankful to be on this journey together.
Warm regards,
Mr. Ernest Conerly
