Soaring to Success! 12/11/20
Message from the Principal
Hello Eagle Families,
Reminder for those of you who may be considering changing your learning location for the next grading period. The form for Parents to change from Virtual to In-Person Learning is due TODAY (12/11/20). Due to the Holiday Break and recommended local health guidelines, students who wish to change from virtual to in person learning can delay their student's on-campus return date. Your in person learning location will go into effect the date selected in the form, either January 5th or 19th. In order to allow the campus to adequately plan for this change in learning location, this form deadline is December 11, 2020.
Don't forget Panda Express Spirit night TODAY. At the Four Points location, make sure to tell them you are there to support CRMS so they donate to the school. Or order ahead and use our event’s unique online code 315510 for orders placed on order.pandaexpress.com or the Panda app. And mark your calendar for this Wednesday, 12/16/20 is Chick-fil-A Spirit night from 5-8pm.
Please note: On the last day of the semester before the holiday break, Friday, December 18th, we will have a 1/2 day Early Release. This is a different schedule than our typical 2-hour Early Releases. Here is the schedule for December 18th.
Thank you for your continued support of Canyon Ridge Middle School.
Go Eagles!

We need Volunteers please!
*Are you interested in helping Canyon Ridge with the science fair? There are a number of ways you can help! We need judges, hospitality room donations, etc. If you are wanting to judge or be on the approval of projects committee, we would like for you to have a background or degree in something along the lines of the following categories:
Computer science, biology, chemistry, engineering or robotics, physics, astronomy, mathematics, energy, animals, plant sciences, materials science, medical field, sport sciences, psychology, etc. If you think you fall into this category and want to judge projects please email me and let me know! If you have expertise in any of the fields listed above, you can be a IRB or SRC member who helps approve projects based on risk level, etc. The school fair is on January 21st and judging will take place in the morning and afternoon, depending on the category. Here is the form for the Judging sign up.
*If you do not want to judge or feel that you aren’t qualified to judge, there is another way to volunteer which we would greatly appreciate it! We are also hosting a hospitality room as we are going to have multiple teachers, admin, and other employees in the district help judge on campus (as students will be judged virtually), so we would love any contributions that could be made. This is an all day event, so anything from bottle water, breakfast items, or lunch items is perfectly acceptable, as long everything is individually wrapped. Here is the form to donate to the hospitality room.

Spring Semester Schedules
Families, some students may have a different schedule for the spring semester. There are various reasons for changes in schedules, so we encourage all students and parents to check the HAC to view their child’s schedule. Classes designated with C1-C6 are full year classes. Classes that show as C4, C5, C6 are spring semester classes. If you have questions, please reach out to the grade level counselor. Students will report directly to their spring semester classes either virtually or in person beginning January 5th. During advisory class the week of December 14th, students will be checking the HAC to view their schedule along with adding in their spring semester google classroom codes.

***DO NOT REGISTER IF YOUR CHILD IS STILL VIRTUAL, THIS IS ONLY FOR IN-PERSON STUDENTS***
Maintain the social distancing, wear your mask, wash your hands & sanitize!
If anyone in your household tests positive for COVID, please notify Mrs. Sturdevant or our school nurse, Rachael Kristoff, immediately. Also, since we are in between holiday breaks, if your child is in-person & was with someone over the holiday break that has now tested positive for COVID, you must notify the nurse of the exposure. We are doing our best to properly contact trace & keep all of our students & staff safe.
Friendly reminder as the holiday break nears. We encourage our families and staff to do their part to minimize the spread of COVID-19.
By coming to school, you are attesting that you confidently answered “NO” to ALL of the questions related to COVID-19 symptoms and have a very low risk of carrying or spreading COVID-19. If you answered “YES” to ANY of the questions, you are to stay home. All screening information will be kept confidential by the campus administration and the campus nurse.
Students experiencing ANY of the symptoms from the list, in a way that is not normal for the student, MUST REMAIN AT HOME and a parent/guardian should email the CRMS Attendance Clerk (CRMSAttendance@leanderisd.org) and provide the student’s Full Legal Name, Student ID Number, date and reason for absence.
***Students who are required to stay home due to COVID-19 related symptoms can still access learning virtually if they feel well enough to attend virtual classes.

Launch to Learning Guides and FAQ
As the upcoming school year takes shape, we want to ensure the information families need to make important decisions is easy to access in our Launch to Learning 2020-21 guides.
We know that our community still has questions, so we’ve worked hard at cultivating an expansive, updated FAQ section of the Launch to Learning site. The latest additions will be highlighted green for a few days and then moved into a queue under the appropriate heading.
