Warrior Connection - September 6

As a reminder, there is no school on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day. We hope our Warrior families are enjoying the long weekend and a little extra time together!

We have officially settled into full school mode at West Minico! Routines and procedures are in place, classes are moving forward, and our students are finding their rhythm. As students occasionally step outside of expectations, we continue to gently remind, reteach, and redirect them. Middle school is a time for learning—and that includes learning how to navigate expectations, relationships, responsibilities, and choices.

We love our Warriors and their Warrior spirit! We will continue reminding them of what it means to follow the Warrior Way: Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Ready. Be Safe. Our students are capable of so much, and we want them to see that in themselves as much as we see it in them.

A couple of reminders for families as we move into the school year: Please make sure you are connected to ParentSquare, as this is our primary way of communicating important school information. We also encourage every parent to have a PowerSchool account so you can regularly check your student's grades and progress.

We are also excited to begin some of our after-school opportunities! After-School Tutoring begins this Wednesday—please see the flyer below for details. We are also starting an after-school Art Club this year and are excited to provide another opportunity for our students to connect, create, and be involved at West Minico.

Enjoy the rest of the long weekend, Warriors. Rest up, recharge, and we’ll see everyone Tuesday morning ready to learn! 💙💛

This year, our district is transitioning from Remind to ParentSquare for parent and school communication. ParentSquare will be the primary way you receive messages and updates from West Minico, and our athletics, clubs, teams, and other school groups will also use ParentSquare for communication.

We will share additional information and step-by-step instructions over the next two weeks, and we will have support available at Back-to-School Night to make sure every family is connected and able to receive messages.

For now, there is one easy thing you can do: download the ParentSquare app! Having the app on your phone will help you be ready as we make the transition. More information is coming soon!
