School Supplies
This year, parents will be providing school supplies for students! Below are the school supply lists.
Meal Benefits
YOU Benefit Application
You Benefit! application helps families and your school. By applying your child's school can receive additional funding. In addition, your child's school fees may be waived or reduced.
We ask that all families complete the You Benefit! form, regardless of income. Because these forms help unlock vital school funding and fee waivers, our front office team will follow up with families until we reach 100% participation!
Girls on the Run
Just a friendly reminder that we have registration open for GIRLS ON THE RUN this fall! Girls on the Run is a wonderful opportunity for students in grades 3-5 to build confidence, develop strong friendships, and have fun while working toward completing a 5k. Our team will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays after school, and we loved to your student join us! if your child participated in Girls on the Run in the past, we would especially be excited to have them back. Be sure to register soon to save your students on the team here!

Fall Sports
GRS 6th-8th Grades can participate in the DPS Athletics Program. Student-athletes must have
paperwork completed, including pre-participation physical forms and Arbiter Registration. The
deadline to register will be Friday, August 28, at 4:00 p.m.
A district wide message has already been sent. This is another reminder to get your athlete
registered if they are wanting to participate in Baseball or Girls Soccer.
Early Fall Season (9/8/26-10/16/26) - Baseball and Girls Soccer
1. Register your student by clicking this Arbiter Registration Link Grant Ranch ECE-8
2. Take your student to your pediatrician, Ultimate Health Medical Clinic
7735 W Long Dr, Unit 12, 303-904-0331, Little Clinic, Carbon Health urgent care
in Littleton, located at 9116 W. Bowles Ave., Ste 3A for $50 until Aug 31st-
rebecca.britton@carbonhealth.com or school-based clinics within DPS, Summer
Hours for School Based Health Clinics, for a pre-participation physical stating
your child is cleared for sports. Upload it in the registration process or give Ms.
Fox a hard copy before tryout/practice.
3. Pay the registration fee for each sport: $37 standard/$27 free and reduced lunch
eligibility. The DPS Foundation has acquired the My Spark Denver and, new this year,
were able to have families apply for this program when they enrolled for school. If you
did not select the program when enrolling, complete this form to be added to the
lottery/waitlist.
It is extremely important to register ASAP. This allows GRS to see if we will be
able to have enough players to host the teams. If a problem occurs and you
cannot get a physical before school starts, please still register and just skip the
physical part during registration. Your athlete can give me a hardcopy before
tryouts/practices begin.
Thank you
Ms. Fox

Do you know a DPS student that could benefit from FREE braces?
TO Smiles is Total Orthodontics' free braces program. TO Smiles provides free braces to 10 deserving recipients a year. Recipients receive free braces and, in return, complete a self-designed Pay-It-Forward service project of 40 hours. Approximately 200 sets of free braces have already been awarded since 2009, and our historical acceptance rate is approximately 50%.

New Personalized Electronic Device Policy
The Denver School Board recently passed a "Bell-to-Bell" ban on personal electronic devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, and similar technology. As in previous years, we strongly encourage students to leave these devices at home.
The policy says:
Cellphones, smartwatches, wireless earbuds and earphones, personally owned tablets and laptops, and any other devices not issued by the district must be out of sight and turned off during the school day while students are in school buildings.
Exceptions should be made for students who need devices for physical or mental health reasons or as part of a special education plan or disability accommodation. Exceptions should also be made for multilingual students who need devices for language access.
Personal electronic devices brought to school must be turned into the teacher in the morning and will be returned at dismissal. If an uncollected device is seen during the school day, staff will follow the progressive steps below. Consequences accumulate over time and do not reset daily; if a student receives multiple warnings on consecutive days, staff may move directly to confiscation on the next occurrence.
First Violation: Warning and Redirection
The student receives a verbal warning, is reminded of policy expectations, and is directed to turn off and store the device. The incident is documented by the school.
Second Violation: Confiscation and Return at End of Day
Staff will store the device securely and return it to the student at dismissal. Parents will be notified of the violation. Students should turn off their devices before surrendering them.
Third Violation: Confiscation and Family Conference
The device is stored securely in the main office and will only be returned following a conference with the parent, student, and school staff to create a plan of support. The student may be required to check their device into the office daily for a set period.
Fourth & Subsequent Violations: Referral and Support
The matter is referred to administration for additional support and accountability. Actions focus on keeping learning first and may include daily office check-ins, a behavioral plan, or loss of device privileges at school.
A student who refuses to hand over a device upon request may face disciplinary action under the DPS Discipline Matrix, independent of the step progression above.
We encourage families to leave personal devices at home. All school-day contact should go through the main office, where phones are available for both students and parents. Neither the school nor the district is responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged devices, and staff will not spend time searching for missing property.
