Mentor Interaction Log
Mentors, please ensure the August Interaction Log (found on your candidate's forms) is completed by Friday, Sept. 4. This week is Week 4 for August. There were 4 weeks to meet in August and two Induction Collaborations. You can log 2 hours for each of the 2 Collaborations (Week 3 and Week 4) in addition to the time you spent with your Candidate. Our goal is four hours each month.
If you have any questions, feel free to review the slide deck from last week, or go to our website for some helpful videos. Please don't forget your brief summary for the month (Glows, Grows, and Next Steps).
Trish will open September once your August Log has been marked as completed.
Thank you!

Reminders! 👋
Induction Spreadsheets
All candidates and mentors were provided a spreadsheet for the year of Induction. Please be sure the first tab is completed. This information is all required by the state as part of our enrollment process. Double check that I have marked the upper right corner "Meets Program Requirements" which indicates that everything is complete and you are approved to participate as a candidate or mentor. If this is not completed, please review your forms for completion. If you have any questions, please contact Trish at patricia_chiles@myfsd.org
Induction Website
As you are getting to know one another, take a moment to check out our website (linked) or go to https://bit.ly/FSDInductionResources. Please bookmark the website as it is the easiest place to find Induction information.
CSTP Spotlight 🤩
CSTP 2
The last element of CSTP 2 is 2D Inclusive Environment: Teachers build on students’ assets—students’ abilities and talents, prior learning and peer and social group interactions, languages and cultures, and family and community experiences—to ensure that students’ identities are included in classroom interactions and future learning experiences.
What are you doing to ensure that you know your students' assets? How are you promoting the cultures and languages within your classroom? Do all students feel included? Here are a few resources to support your growth in this area.
Candidate and Mentor Talking Points 💬
Each week we will provide several talking points that should be reviewed during your weekly meetings together.
This week spend time getting to know one another.
- What would you do if you were not a teacher?
- Who are the important people in your life?
- Do you have pets?
- What are your hobbies?
In addition, be sure to start discussing:
- Resources (availability of resources/location/how to access) (CSTP 3)
- Collaboration between teachers/RSP/EL support staff to support all students in learning (CSTP 4)
- Setting student goals (CSTP 4/5)
- Completing yearly Goals and Objectives: (CSTP 6)
What are they?
What should they include?
ILP connections (your goals may serve both purposes)
