Helping Each Child Soar!

Highlights and Moving Forward...

Last week, I had the privilege of reading to students in the Winter Wonderland. It was an amazing experience. I loved seeing the smiles on students' faces. Every single time I read aloud to students, I am reminded of what a gift reading aloud to someone is. I am so grateful for the opportunity to spread the joy of reading!

I would like to send a big THANK YOU to all of our parent volunteers who made the Winter Wonderland experience possible for our students. We had over 20 parents volunteer!

I look forward to seeing many of you this week as we celebrate. Be sure to stop by our lost and found and retrieve those long lost articles of clothing. When we return in January, whatever is left will be donated.

Positivity Project- P2

This week we will focus on the character strength Self-Control. Click here for more information.

What it is... Having self-control means being able to control your behaviors and emotions.

Why it matters... People with self-control are able to remain composed during a problem or negative experience. This is so important for our students as they work through academic and social challenges each day at school.

PLTW News from Mrs. Bevel...

Last week in PLTW we celebrated Computer Science Education Week and students participated in The Hour of Code. What is The Hour of Code?

The Hour of Code started as a one-hour introduction to computer science, designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. It has since become a worldwide effort to celebrate computer science, starting with 1-hour coding activities but expanding to all sorts of community efforts. 100 million students have now discovered how accessible and fun computer science can be by doing just one Hour of Code. For more coding fun at home click here.
