📌 Attendance Reminders for Parents

Regular attendance is key to student success! Please take a moment to review these important attendance guidelines to help your child stay on track:

✅ Report All Absences Through Sapphire
All absences must be submitted via the Sapphire portal. This includes sick days, educational trips, and doctor visits.

😷 Sick Days
You have 3 school days to submit an absence excuse after your child is out sick. Excuses submitted after 3 days will be marked as unexcused.

🩺 Doctor’s Notes
Doctor’s notes should be uploaded directly into the Sapphire portal. This ensures your child's absence is documented correctly and promptly.

✈️ Educational Trip Requests
If you are planning a trip during the school year, an Educational Trip Form must be completed in advance through Sapphire. Please note:

• Trips scheduled within the first or last 10 days of the school year will be denied.
• Approval is required for the absence to be considered excused.

⏰ Build Good Habits Early
Encourage your child to develop strong routines by arriving at school on time and prepared every day. Consistent attendance sets the foundation for lifelong success!

Back-to-School paperwork is available in Sapphire for parents/guardians to complete. When you log in to your Sapphire account, the required forms will be on the home page for each child.

Required Forms Awaiting Completion – Please complete by September 12th:

• Handbook Acknowledgment
• COPPA/FERPA Acknowledgment
• iPad Protection Plan Choice
• Student Data Card

• Rocket Rider - a student who is picked up on a permanent basis. Parent/guardian must have a rocket rider sign to pick child up from school. If you have not requested rocket rider signs, please contact the school to arrange pick up.
• Car rider - a student who is getting picked up randomly. Parent/guardian must send a note or call the school by 2 pm to put child on car rider list. Please alert the office the name of the individual picking your child up from school. Driver's license must be shown to pick up your child.

Your child attends Paradise Elementary School, which receives Federal Title I funds to assist students in meeting state achievement standards. Throughout the school year, we will be providing you with important information about this law and your child’s education. The letter lets you know about your right to request information about the qualifications of the classroom staff working with your child.

Please note that students in grades 1 through 4 will have two days of Fitness this year. It is important that they wear sneakers on the days they have Fitness.
