E. Ray Parent Newsletter
September 15th-September 19th
Dear E. Ray Families,
We had such a great time celebrating Homecoming Dress Up Week! Our students showed their school spirit each day, and we want to thank all of our parents for the many ways you support your children and our school community—it truly makes a difference.
This week, I also had the opportunity to meet with every class during PE to talk about our Bulldog Best: being responsible, respectful, kind, and safe. These values are at the heart of everything we do at E. Ray. As an extension of our lesson, I encourage you to ask your child what we discussed and how they can show these Bulldog Best traits at school and at home.
As a reminder, dismissal is at 3:20 PM. Please ensure students are picked up no later than 3:45 PM each day to help us keep dismissal smooth and safe for everyone.
Thank you for your continued partnership. We look forward to another great week!

Attendance
Parents, every day at E. Ray matters when it comes to learning. If your child is healthy and well, please ensure they are at school and in class by 7:50 AM each day so they don’t miss valuable instruction. If your child is absent due to illness, we kindly ask that you send a doctor’s note upon their return. To help encourage strong attendance, we will be hosting many fun attendance challenges throughout the school year—so let’s work together to make every day count!
Important Information-Senate Bill 12
Because of a new Texas law (Senate Bill 12), parents must now provide written consent before schools can offer many health and counseling services. These include:
-
Providing first aid (bandages, ice packs, care for illness at school)
-
Visits to the school nurse or counselor
-
Routine screenings, such as vision and hearing checks
Until this consent form is completed, we are not allowed to provide these services unless it is a life-threatening emergency. Completing the form ensures your child has access to the care and support they may need during the school day.
What to Do:
The consent form is available in your Skyward Family Access account. When you log in, you will see a banner at the top of the home screen that will take you directly to the SB 12 Parental Consent Form. A separate form must be completed for each child enrolled in Everman ISD.
If you need help logging into Skyward, please contact our front office for assistance. Thank you for your prompt attention to this important matter.

Important Lunch Visitor Guidelines
If you are joining your child for lunch, please remember to bring a valid photo ID. Parents and guardians will be seated toward the end of the cafeteria table with their child(ren).
For the safety of all students, we ask that you only bring food for your own child. Outside food may not be shared with other students, as this poses a safety risk due to allergies.
Thank you for helping us keep our students safe while enjoying this special time together!
3rd-5th Grade Parents: Chromebook Information
Parents/Guardians,
We need your help in reminding students to bring their Chromebooks and chargers to school each day. These are an essential part of their school supplies, just like notebooks and pencils. Having their device ready and charged helps students stay fully engaged in learning and minimizes disruptions during the school day.
We are also working with students on building responsibility, and your support at home makes a big difference. Thank you for partnering with us to ensure your child is prepared each day!
Keeping Toys at Home
To help keep our students focused on learning, we ask that all toys remain at home. Recently, we have seen many toys coming to school, including popular items attached to students’ belt loops. Moving forward, any toys brought to school will be collected and held for a parent to pick up. Thank you for your support in maintaining a distraction-free learning environment for all students.
