CCSD Superintendent's Student Advisory Council
Do you have ideas about how to improve our school district? Would you like to learn more about Clarke County School District? Interim Superintendent Dr. Scott invites all 11th- and 12th- grade students to participate in this year’s Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council. This opportunity is a great way to develop your leadership skills, meet students from around the district, and share your perspective on being a CCSD student. The Council will meet four times to discuss important topics and is an opportunity for you to share your perspective with district leaders. The council will meet during the school day (third block) with CCSD transportation provided to the Board of Education office. The first meeting takes place Tuesday, September 23rd.
All 11th- and 12th - grades students are invited to apply, the application is a brief three questions. We encourage you to represent Athens Community Career Academy on this council! The application is due Friday, September 5th.

ACCA Parking Notice
Please remember that students should not park in reserved spots or handicapped spaces on the ACCA campus. While avoiding reserved spots is a courtesy, parking in handicapped spaces without proper documentation is a violation of the law and may result in fines or other penalties. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring that all designated parking areas are used appropriately. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Help Keep the ACCA Student Center Clean!
Students - Please make sure to clean up after yourselves in the ACCA Student Center. We are no longer allowing students to eat in the Student Center, so please use the lobby to eat breakfast and lunch. Thank you!
ACCA Breakfast
* If your bus arrives after 8:30 am, please see Ms. Lowe at the ACCA front entrance to receive breakfast. Please write your name on the clipboard if you receive a breakfast after 8:30 am.
ACCA Lunch
* Lunch is provided at ACCA for only FULL DAY students from 11:30 - 11:45 am MTThF (12:00 - 12:15 pm on Wednesdays) in the ACCA lobby.
* ACCA morning and afternoon students will eat lunch at their home high schools each day.
ACCA Lanyards
ACCA students are required to wear their ACCA lanyards and ID badges while on the ACCA campus. If students forget their lanyards, they will be given a temporary ACCA blue wristband for the day. This helps us ensure that each student transitions into and off our campus in the most efficient way possible and increases the security in our facility.
Parking at ACCA
ACCA currently does not require a parking pass to park on our campus. Students are allowed to park in any available spaces (other than reserved) in the ACCA parking lot as well as any parallel spots on the Dearing Extension in front of the building (please park in the direction of traffic to avoid a parking ticket). Please do not park in any of the surrounding businesses near ACCA or the Early Learning Center parking lot.
CCSD Student Health Form
Parents and guardians: Have you filled out your student's health form for the new school year? If not, please go to qrco.de/CCSDStudentHealth.
There is now a School Based Health Center on the ACCA campus (behind ACCA at Classic City High School). If a student needs to be seen by a provider for well-child checks, sick visits, sports physicals, immunizations, counseling, dental, nutritional, or legal services, the student should contact a school nurse, counselor, or social worker. Employees and students' parents/guardians can call the SBHCs directly and make an appointment.
For questions, contact our campus nurse, Ashley Orrell at orrella@clarke.k12.ga.us
Need to borrow a laptop or charging cord at ACCA?
Students can checkout a laptop and/or a charging cord while on the ACCA campus by checking one out from Ms. Lowe at the ACCA front entrance. These items are only able to be used on a daily basis and must be returned each day to her.

When Class is in Session, Put the Phones Away
CCSD is implementing cell phone guidelines to improve student engagement, decrease distractions, and improve the overall educational experience in our classrooms.
As a reminder, high school students will be asked to either keep their phones in their backpacks or place them in pouches inside their classrooms.
ACCA Attendance
If a student is absent from class and has an excuse note from a doctor or a parent/guardian, please email it to Ms. Whitney Lowe at accainfo@clarke.k12.ga.us (or drop it off with her at the front desk) so their absence can be excused in Campus.
