School Day Committee Update
At the October 9th Board of Education meeting, a memo was presented regarding progress toward committee objectives. Families who wish to access the full memo can find it HERE; there were no additional questions or discussion items presented by Board members following the presentation of the memo.
As a reminder, all families will have an opportunity to learn about the school day committee work and to ask questions regarding objectives on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at 6:30 pm in the Middle School South Cafeteria. We hope to see you there!
Reminders Regarding Arrival and Dismissal Procedures
Right Turn Only: When leaving the parking lot during arrival and dismissal, you may only turn right onto Cuba Road. Left turns are not permitted.
Follow the Designated Route: Please follow the marked traffic route and come to a complete stop at all stop signs. To prevent accidents and traffic jams, please do not use parking spots to turn around.
Use the Curb Lane for Drop-Off/Pick-Up: The front curb lane is the only area for dropping off and picking up students.
Students Exit/Enter on Curb Side: For their safety, students must only get in and out of the car on the curb side. They cannot cross traffic in the parking lot.
Pull All the Way Forward: In the drop-off line, please pull as far forward as possible before stopping. This keeps the line moving efficiently.
Never Drop-Off on the Street: Dropping students off on Cuba Road or in any other undesignated area is dangerous and strictly prohibited.
Drive Slowly: Please maintain a slow speed on school property and in the school zone.
Stop for Buses: Do not enter or leave the parking lot when school buses have their stop signs extended.
Dismissal Pick-Up: All cars for pick-up should enter the lot before 2:10 PM and line up behind the buses in front of MSS.
Thank you for your partnership in following these procedures. Together, we can ensure a safe and smooth process for all our students.
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month
October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and District 95 is raising awareness about online safety for our students, staff, and community.
Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or X at LZdistrict95 as we highlight practical ways families can stay safe online—such as recognizing phishing emails, using strong passwords, keeping devices updated, and enabling extra account protections.
Talking with your children about these habits helps everyone stay safer in today’s digital world.
Safety on Foot & Wheels
As students travel to and from school, we want to remind everyone about the importance of safety. Please take a moment to review these tips with your child:
Always wear a properly fitted helmet when riding scooters or bicycles.
Stop, look, and listen before crossing streets or train tracks.
Use crosswalks and follow all traffic signals.
Stay alert — avoid headphones and phone use while riding or walking.
Be cautious around buses, cars, and busy intersections
We also previously shared resources from the Village of Lake Zurich on E-Scooters, E-Bikes, and E-Dirt Bikes, which can be found [here]. Additional safety resources may be found on the District 95 Safety & Security Website.
Thank you for reinforcing these important safety practices with your student.
Red Ribbon Week Information
As part of our ongoing commitment to student health and wellness, District 95 is partnering with the Ela Coalition Against Youth Substance Use to celebrate Red Ribbon Week. This week focuses on a variety of age-appropriate messages and activities related to healthy decision-making for students. Families can learn more about Red Ribbon Week and district activities in the parent letter HERE.
Additionally, families can learn about the poster contest for the secondary level in the flyer HERE.

Athletics Information Regarding Important Documents and Registration
Needed Forms Prior to First Day of Activity/Tryout:
For students interested in trying out and participating in a sport, students must have the following:
Physical: All students participating in tryouts and a sport must have a current physical or sports physical on file. Physicals are good for one year and one month from the date the physical was conducted. Please check to make sure your physical is current prior to tryouts or the start of an athletic activity. The physical should be turned into the Nurse’s Office.
Emergency Information Form: Students must have a completed and signed Emergency Information Form for each activity they are trying out for/participating in. They will need to turn this form in to the coach or sponsor at the time of tryouts. If try-outs are not required, then the form should be turned in at the first meeting of the sport or activity.
All required medical forms and athletic schedules can be found on the Athletics & Activities website.
All registration for activities will be in ParentVUE and information about registration will be sent later this summer.
