Welcome Back SLI Families:

Welcome to all our new SLI families and welcome back to our returning families. Our first week has been a great one. Despite the rainy first day, the weather has been great and the feeling of fall in the air these last couple of mornings means school is in session.

I would like to thank families for attending our Open House. It was phenomenal to see so many smiles and to feel the excitement and buzz from everyone. It was a pleasure to meet new faces and meet again returning families. I want to thank the staff for their role in welcoming everyone. I also want to acknowledge the awesome presence of our P.T.O. at Open House. Our SLI P.T.O. is so supportive of our school and is working hard to engage our families. Please consider joining our P.T.O. or volunteering for future events.

Our revised cell phone guidelines were shared with families via email earlier this week. Staff are seeing less distractions to our learning environments, and students are enjoying their lunch and recess device free.

It is a great night for OHS football. Please see the flyer for the Raccoon Rally Event that will be held tonight from 4:00-7:30 at OHS.

Have a great weekend,

Mrs. Jill Marr

Our school theme this year is Together We Are Better: Be Kind and Smile More. We know we can accomplish so many more things when we learn together, laugh together, partner together to succeed together. Our 7th grade students have embraced our theme with decorating our school. Please see the fabulous pictures.

MAP Testing MAP Testing

Our first district assessment of the 2019-2020 school will be our Fall MAP testing during Sept. 9-27. Students will take an untimed computerized assessment in reading and math. The MAP assessment is designed to track student progress and identify areas/skills students are strong or areas where there is are opportunities to grow a student's skills. Teachers will be communicating specific test dates/times with families for their classroom. Please refer to your Skyward Family Access for more information about this assessment.

Student Pick Ups (End of Day & Illness)

Just a reminder that families who are picking up a student at the end of the day need to park in front of the school or go through the pick up line in front of the school. The side parking lot is designated for buses only. This is for the safety of our students.

If your child is feeling ill during the school day, he/she should report to our health room. The health room will notify families if a pick up from school during the day is needed. Students should not be texting or calling families w/out visiting the health room for documentation and safety.
