We had so much fun at this afternoon’s Literacy Parade! A huge thank you to all the families who came out to cheer on our Roxstars and make this celebration of reading so special. Our students loved bringing their favorite books to life through their creative costumes. Be sure to ask your student which book inspired their look!

2. Attendance Matters 2. Attendance Matters

As the days get darker, colder, and wetter, we know that getting up and out the door in the morning can become a little more challenging. However, regular attendance and arriving on time are important for student success.

Every school day provides valuable opportunities for learning, building relationships, and participating in classroom activities. When students miss school, they miss important instruction that can be difficult to replace. Likewise, arriving late can be disruptive, making it harder for students to settle into their day and causing them to miss key parts of their morning learning and community building.

Thank you for partnering with us to help your child arrive at school every day and on time whenever possible. Consistent attendance helps students feel connected, confident, and ready to learn.

Join staff, students, and family members for the first Friday Community Walk on November 6. Walk up the hill with friends, read I am Ruby Bridges along the route, and talk about "Who is a hero in our Roxhill Community?".

Meet at 7:20 am at the Southwest corner of Holden and 24th to walk up the SW Holden St. hill together.

Can't join the walk? Join us in the cafeteria before school starts to keep building community over red beans and rice, one of Ruby's favorite dishes!
