6th Grade Art Trip

Sixth grade art took a field trip to Scraps KC. They learned more about artists' efforts to use recycled materials to create new things. They were able to explore the educational center where they learned more about Scraps KC's mission and start-up. Sixth grade also volunteered and created fun “make and take” kits for others (as well as one for themselves), and strolled through the shop of scraps. If you want to learn more about Scraps KC, I highly recommend visiting their website or dropping in. They have great resources for teachers, and they are currently working on getting teachers free supplies for school!

Updates from Academic Services Updates from Academic Services

Dual Credit Opportunites

Archie High School students have the opportunity to take dual credit classes through the University of Central Missouri (UCM). Students can begin classes when they are a sophomore, have a minimum GPA of 3.0, and counselor/principal recommendation. Students choosing to earn high school credit and three hours of college credit must be independent, motivated students. All dual credit classes are online with an instructor from UCM, not Archie. Students must be able to problem solve, manage their time, and use resources through UCM to complete college level work. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Mell in Academic Services.

FAFSA Update-

FAFSA

If you haven’t already, please check out state financial aid, scholarships and grants from the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD).

https://journeytocollege.mo.gov/pay/state-financial-aid/

At this time, the “new” 2024–25 FAFSA® is still scheduled to open in December. Please use the following link to keep up with any updates https://journeytocollege.mo.gov/fafsa-info/.

If you have not already done so, all seniors and their parents need to create a FAFSA® ID. With the new FAFSA®, you can no longer create an ID and use it the same day. Please use this link to guide you through the process. https://drive.google.com/file/d/19QeJ0jINVjFWG5IxAqx2BsE2vW17bhj8/view?usp=sharing
