"Encourage one another and build each other up ..."

1 Thessalonians 5:11

What a beautiful celebration for our beloved animals today! It was so great to see so many pets this morning! I was able to snap a few photos of students with their pets!

We began reading expository texts in Reading about the beginning of our nation. The class is excited to learn more about this period later in Social Studies this week. This week we have finished up our multiplication topic in Math, and we will have a test next week on Wednesday. The class has done a great job with this topic. I encourage anyone who is still struggling with math facts to practice at home to build fluency. In Science this week, we began our SciTrek module, asking the question, "What variables affect shadows?" Students were able to pick variables to change, and designed a fun experiment, which they will run next week. In Social Studies, we started to look at the Age of Exploration, asking what drove people to explore, what benefits there were, and how these expeditions affected others.

Next week, we will have conferences, so there will be 12:20pm dismissals on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to accommodate these schedules. I look forward to sitting down and taking time to set goals with you! There is a pre-conference survey in the Friday Folder today. Please take a bit of time to complete this, and send this back in the Friday Folder. I appreciate your help with this!
