MEA Farmstand
Save the date and time!
The last MEA Farmstand for the school year will be Wednesday, May 21 from 1:00 until 2:30, immediately following the 5th and 8th grade promotion luncheon.
We will have freshly harvested garlic (not cured so needs to be eaten within one to three weeks, organic varieties, organically grown and unusual varieties like Inchelium red and nooka rose), freshly harvested potatoes, carrots and a variety of other items from the gardens (hoping for our first flush of squashes and cucumbers, weather dependent) lettuces etc + flowers, and handcrafted ceramic plant markers created by the high school ceramics students.
We will also have buckets of mushroom compost (excellent nutrient addition to your home garden) available for a suggested donation of $5 per bucket. Includes the bucket and the compost!
April (our honey vendor) will also be available with her products, so plan to stock up!
All items are offered on a donation basis/“pay as you feel” model. We accept cash and PayPal through our school’s Foundation account.
All proceeds go directly back into MEA’s robust garden spaces and program.
Graduation Rehearsal/Senior Celebration
Rehearsal is MANDATORY for all seniors participating in the graduation ceremony. Caps and gowns will be distributed at the end of rehearsal, followed by a senior celebration and cap decorating.
🎓 Graduation Ceremony
Please feel free to invite family and friends to the graduation ceremony located at Creative Performing and Media Arts School, 5050 Conrad Ave, San Diego, CA 92117. The ceremony will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Graduates must arrive at 5:00 (report to the “Green Room” behind the stage)! Honor cords will be distributed in the Green Room just prior to the processional. The ceremony is expected to last less than one hour, followed by a reception outdoors.
Seniors
Attention Seniors
Please remember to complete your Senior Checklist as soon as possible. Several (if not all) items are now past due.
If you need to reprint the checklist, it is available on the Senior Google Classroom.
Don't delay—get it done today!
Final Transcripts
Colleges are beginning to offer enrollment to students for the 24/25 academic year. In many cases, colleges are requesting transcripts soon (e.g., May 1st) and at the end of the year. If you need to request a transcript, please follow the directions located here. If the college is asking for one now and your final transcript, you will have to do this twice. Please note: If you applied to the college through the Common Application, your final transcripts will be sent to us automatically. You do not need to proceed with the process below. Please just send an email to me letting me know which of your Common App schools you chose (arubin@sandi.net).
Financial Aid Application Requirement – Student Opt-Out
As a senior, you are required by California law (CEC § 51225.7) to complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA), unless you choose to opt out. If you decide not to submit a financial aid application, you can complete an opt-out form.
Opting out now does not mean you cannot apply for financial aid later. You are still welcome to submit a FAFSA or CADAA in the future whenever you are ready.
