Hello Rolling Hills Families,

As we welcome the cooler temperatures and the beautiful changing colors of fall, this season brings so many things to enjoy. Whether it’s crisp morning air, pumpkin carving, hayrides, nature walks, or apple picking, autumn has a way of creating meaningful moments and lasting memories.

October was a full and exciting month at Rolling Hills! We were grateful to participate in National Fire Prevention Week, and we extend a big thank you to the Mukwonago Fire Department for teaching our students important safety skills. We also appreciate everyone who visited and supported our Scholastic Book Fair during Grandparent Lunch Week. And a heartfelt THANK YOU to our PTO for organizing the wonderful faculty dinners during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Your kindness and support mean so much to our staff.

Looking ahead, I’d like to highlight the importance of grit. Grit takes perseverance, determination, and strength of character. While many of our students have strong support systems and opportunities to grow, others face challenges that require even more resilience. By teaching problem-solving skills and encouraging perseverance, we help all of our students develop the confidence and determination they’ll need throughout life.

To thrive as successful 21st-century learners, our students need to be challenged academically, socially, and physically. With enriching learning experiences, a strong curriculum, and the continued partnership of our families and community, we are committed to helping each child grow in resilience and readiness for the future.

Wishing you a wonderful November!

Warm regards,

Dr. Ron Schlicht, Principal

Student Absences Student Absences

If your child will be late or absent from school, you must either enter the absence online through Infinite Campus, or call the school attendance line at 262-363-6318. Hot Lunch Hot Lunch

If your child brings lunch from home, they may purchase milk, which will be charged to their hot lunch account. Each student has a hot/cold lunch account, which requires a minimum prepayment of $25.00. Each time your child eats hot lunch or purchases milk, the amount is deducted from their current balance. You can check the balance at any time via the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. You will receive an automated phone call when the account reaches a low or negative balance. Payments can be made online through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal (REVTrak Webstore) or by check payable to Rolling Hills Elementary and submitted to the school office.

Our monthly message for October was: Do the right thing so others can see and follow your example. This month we are focusing on responsibility. Our Shine Bright message is “Be a Beacon.” A beacon is a light that helps show others the way. We can be a beacon at school by doing the right thing and setting a good example for others. When you follow directions, complete your work, clean up after yourself, and make safe choices, you are showing others what responsibility looks like. Make choices that you will be proud of at the end of the day. Remember to always shine bright and be someone that others can always count on. Way to be Responsible Raptors!

We always look for donations for the ROAR store. Families may now donate items for the Roar Store through Amazon. 🎄 Adopt-A-Family Campaign

Our annual Adopt-A-Family campaign will take place Monday, November 16–Friday, November 20! We are challenging everyone in our Rolling Hills community to come together and support this wonderful cause. Please consider donating whatever you are able!

Last year, our generous school community raised $3,336.32, allowing us to sponsor 20 children from 7 families through the Christmas Clearing Council of Waukesha County. In addition to clothing and several gifts for each child, we were able to provide each family with a grocery gift card.

When we come together to help others, we can make an incredible difference! We are so grateful for our supportive Rolling Hills families and the generosity they show year after year. 🎄

More information about the campaign will be sent home during the first week of November, so mark your calendars now! Together, we can help make the holidays a little brighter for families in our community. Rolling Hills truly makes a difference!

New this year, parents will receive an automatic notification via Infinite Campus Messenger when their child is in the health room at some point during the school day. Parents will not be notified if this is a scheduled medication or treatment.

However, parents will still be called, as normal, if your child receives a head bump, major injury, is too sick to remain in school, or has an urgent need. For reasons your child may be too sick to remain in school, please check out this Too Sick for School document from the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.

Please contact your child’s school health room with any questions.
