Ms. Allen and Mrs. Rodriguez attended a training with Guy Harvey and learned many things about our Florida ecosystem! (1 oyster can filter 50 gallons of water each day!)
Spoto High School has been awarded $1000 grant for our student's educational experiences and learning opportunities in and outside of the classroom.

Spartan Strong, Spartan Proud: Together We Rise!
Finishing the 1st Grading Period Strong!
Spartan Families,
As we enter the final four weeks of the first grading period, I would like to encourage all students and families to remain focused and committed to academic success. The first grading period will end on October 9, and now is the perfect time for students to take proactive steps to improve their grades and finish the quarter strong.
Students can boost their academic performance by:
- Submitting all assignments on time and completing any missing work.
- Seeking extra help and support from their classroom teachers when they have questions or need additional clarification.
- Taking advantage of tutoring opportunities, review sessions, and other academic supports available at school.
- Staying organized and developing strong study habits each day.
Parents and guardians play a critical role in student success. We encourage families to:
- Maintain regular communication with teachers regarding academic progress and classroom expectations.
- Frequently monitor student performance through Canvas and FOCUS accounts to stay informed about grades, assignments, and attendance.
- Discuss goals and progress with students and celebrate their efforts and achievements.
Additionally, daily attendance and punctuality are essential for academic growth. Every instructional minute matters. Students who attend school consistently and arrive on time are better positioned to engage in learning, participate in classroom activities, and successfully complete assignments. Missing school or arriving late can make it more difficult for students to keep up with important lessons and coursework.
Together, as a school community, we can help every student achieve their full potential. Thank you for your continued partnership and support as we work toward a successful close to the first grading period. Let's make these next four weeks count!
Let’s continue to work together to make this an incredible year of growth, learning, and achievement for every Spartan.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Culpepper
Spoto High School Principal

Focus Parent Portal
Parents and guardians will continue to access Canvas for current class grades, assignments, and communication with teachers. Focus will sync parent accounts from Focus to Canvas within 24 hours of creation. Parents will use the same email to login to Canvas but must set a password before logging in the first time. To set a Canvas password, please access the Canvas Reset Password page.
In short, Canvas is the day-to-day hub for instruction. Teachers can post assignments, quizzes, and class discussions while integrating curriculum resources and academic tools. Teachers may provide valuable assignment feedback that is viewable by both students and parents. Students and parents can also respond to feedback directly in Canvas. Canvas Parent accounts can be created 24 hours after activating Focus.
Focus is used by schools for enrollment, scheduling, attendance, transcripts, final grade reporting, and certain other student information. Parents will be able to view report cards, attendance, class schedules, course history, test history, and some student information as appropriate.
