Apply for the Long Range Planning Committee Today!

There are currently two open positions on the Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC). The LRPC is a seven member citizen committee responsible for guiding the development of the district's Long Range Plan which provides a rational framework for evaluating and addressing future school facility needs as West Linn and Wilsonville grow. LRPC members are expected to regularly attend quarterly meetings, which take place in the evening and last approximately two hours.

Reminder: Update to School Boundaries Coming in 2025

We want to remind families that there will be changes to middle school choice zones starting in 2025. The current district “choice zones” allows some families to choose between two schools and receive bus transportation for either choice. This results in the district often sending 2-3 buses into the same neighborhoods causing redundancy, congestion, and associated costs for additional buses and drivers. Upon the opening of the new primary school located in the Frog Pond development area of Wilsonville in Fall 2025, the District will discontinue the “choice zone” boundary areas for school attendance.

Starting in Fall 2025, students residing in their primary school boundaries will be assigned middle schools and high schools, unless they receive an approved In-District Transfer Request to attend a different school. The WLWV school district is generous with its In-District Transfer Requests as long as there is space and capacity available at the requested school. Bus transportation, however, would only be available within the residing and assigned school area.

Visit the School Boundaries section of the district website for more information.

WLPD Training at West Linn High School CANCELED

The previously scheduled West Linn Police Department training at West Linn High School on July 27 and 28 will no longer take place due to scheduling issues. While the school building is closed this week, campus remains open.

ParentSquare Coming in 2023-24!

The West Linn-Wilsonville School District is excited to share that our school district will be moving to a new communication platform called ParentSquare starting in 2023-24. ParentSquare will consolidate existing communication systems while providing better school engagement and access to information for families.

ParentSquare will provide the following advantages for WLWV families:

  • Allows for schools to send and receive school and class information.

  • Messaging automatically translates to the parent-guardian’s preferred language, allowing for meaningful one-way and two-way electronic conversations.

  • Flexibility for parent-guardians in how you receive information (email, text message, or through the free ParentSquare app) as well as when you receive information (instantaneous or digest).

  • All messaging is archived within ParentSquare so that you can easily review past information.

  • Our ListServ system will be consolidated into ParentSquare so that community members without students in our schools can continue to stay connected through school newsletters and broad school/district announcements.

Parent-guardians can register their ParentSquare account any time this summer and an invite will be sent out in August for those who have yet to do so. Parent-guardians will receive information from their school regardless if they register their account or not, but registering will allow for parent-guardians to engage in two-way communication with their school as well as customize how and when they receive school updates. Parent-guardians are invited to learn more about ParentSquare by visiting this district webpage.
