HBGC Membership mid-APRIL Update

Hello HBGC Members,

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you all for the patience and grace you've shown throughout the beginning of this season as I learn the ins and outs of the job. I've enjoyed organizing the events we've had so far! To help things run smoothly moving forward, I ask that we have the following policies and procedures in place:

• Please check in at the front desk immediately upon entering the golf shop. For business purposes, everyone who plays must be entered into the computer, regardless of their membership tier. In addition, there may be employee turnover at the front desk throughout the year. The new employees coming in would like to get to know names and faces of the membership, so please make it a habit to check in with them first and foremost.

• Please remember that signups for weekend member matches close at 6pm the day before competition. If you miss signups, you may still be able to play in the group, but a spot in the game can't be guaranteed. In general, net formats are easier to accommodate a late addition than games with a gross component. Also, with the Season Points List now running, it is even more important to maintain the integrity of the daily pairings and format.

• Please make every effort to sign up for events through the invitations sent to your email. This gives you the opportunity to select your desired tees and it guarantees that you are not missed on the tee sheet.

• Players must play the tees that they sign up for at registration. Changing your tees the day of competition can greatly impact the pairings and format of the match. Most of the organization is done in advance so what may seem like a small request can actually require a lot of work to reorganize.

• I ask that requests for anything golf-related be sent to my email address (jason@honeybrookgolf.com). Unlike texting, email is much easier for me to organize so I don't forget what you ask. However, texting is still acceptable when time is an issue (484-686-4133).

If you are interested in playing with the member group on weekdays, please consider joining the WhatsApp chat. These games are organized for the members, by the members. Email Jim Barnett (barneycup15@gmail.com) and he will set you up. You may get over 100 messages a day, so make sure to turn off notifications!!

Please remember to post your scores to GHIN in a timely manner. For the time being, you should post your own tournament scores. Remember that we use NET PAR for hole #4. Concerning GAP matches, use an 18-hole score that includes NET PAR for #4 instead of counting #11 twice. If you did not play a hole or picked up before holing out, give yourself what you "probably would've gotten."
