Attendance Awareness for December 2025
All in, All here, All year!
Dear Walteria Families,
This year, we’re grateful to celebrate our shared commitment to showing up together, and we have much to be thankful for!
A Significant Achievement: Together with the community, we’ve reduced chronic absenteeism over the past few years—a wonderful success worth celebrating! This improvement reflects the dedication of our students, families, and staff. Increased attendance means students are achieving at higher levels.
Support for Attendance: Daily attendance is key to reducing stress, providing stability, and helping each child feel connected and engaged. Our goal is for every student to attend school every day and on time. While we understand that children should stay home when they’re sick, we kindly ask that non-essential trips be planned during holiday breaks.
Things we can do to support student achievement together:
- If your child will be out for an extended period of time, speak to your teacher about an Independent Study Contract
- If your child has a fever, please keep them home until they are fever free for 24 hours without the help of medicine
- If your child is absent, please use the Absent Reporting Form to report their absence
- If your child is out for more than 3 days from an illness, please bring a doctor's note when they return
Special Thanks To:
- Our students and families who show up to school every day, even when it’s a challenge.
- Our teachers, who create a welcoming and engaging learning environment where every child can thrive.
- Our counselor and counseling interns, who foster a sense of community and ensure that students feel safe, connected, and excited to learn.
- Our many helpers and volunteers, whose extra hands make a difference in every child’s day.
As we approach Winter Break from December 22-January 2, we’re excited about all the upcoming events and meaningful learning experiences for your child. Above all else, the Walteria staff hopes this season brings joy and warmth to you and your loved ones.
Happy Holidays!
