A message from your principal A message from your principal

Hello Evergreen Families,

There are some fun events coming up for students next week. We have a band & choir concert at the Civic on Tuesday evening and Improv Night on Thursday evening. These events are open to the whole family. The band and choir concert is free. The Improv nights will have $5 tickets for sale at the door.

In addition to those family events, our students will have their winter assembly where our bands, choirs, and orchestra perform on Thursday and their Wolfie's Winter Whirl on Friday. On Friday PTA puts on a small event for students. As they arrive to school they will receive a small cup of hot cocoa to enjoy before they go to their classes. There may be cookies as well, depending on the donations that are received. Students love this treat to start their day.

Friday, December 19th is a shorter day that ends at 11:35AM. It is a day of fun here at Evergreen where students are able to participate in different activities. We call it, Wolfie's Winter Whirl.

Now is a really good time to check ParentVue to see how your child is doing academically. If you do not have access to ParentVue, you can always ask your child to go to StudentVue and show you their progress and grades. If you would like help getting set up on ParentVue just let the front office know and we can provide support to help get set up.

Enjoy your weekend!

Sincerely,

Sara Idle

An Update from Transportation: Middle School Seating Charts Coming Soon! An Update from Transportation: Middle School Seating Charts Coming Soon!

Our first semester is quickly progressing and in January, we will officially transition to our second semester. As we do so, our Transportation team will be establishing bus seating charts for all regular education middle school bus routes. These seating charts are needed to better ensure student safety including bus behavior and will be implemented after students return from Mid-Winter Break, on February 23, 2026.

Across the coming month of January, we will prepare our students for this forthcoming change. Understandably, students may not agree with this decision but sitting in an assigned seat will become a requirement for riding a bus to/from school. Prior to implementing assigned seats, students will have the opportunity to select a seat assignment where they feel most comfortable. This approach supports a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students. By knowing their daily assigned seat and seat partner, students can experience a greater sense of safety, belonging and reduced anxiety in what can often feel like a confined space. Knowing they have a reserved seat significantly reduces conflicts on the bus resulting from arguing over a particular seat and reduces anxiety about having to sit by (or away from) other students. Assigned seating will also help increase the efficiency of bus loading and unloading, both at our school and at bus stops, by allowing students to become familiar with their regular seating arrangements.

As we progress toward this forthcoming change, please know that we will include additional updates ahead of our February 23rd implementation date. In the interim, please reach out with any questions or suggestions.

Winter Weather Information Winter Weather Information

Our weather is certainly getting colder by the day. Should we add snow and ice, there is always a possibility of every middle schoolers dream, a snow day. On such days, please know that any delays and/or closures will be posted on our school and district websites. For more information related to emergency closures and late starts, please CLICK HERE. Thank you, stay safe, and stay warm!

Fill out your CNEEB Form Today! Fill out your CNEEB Form Today!

Everett Public Schools uses the CNEEB form to determine which families qualify for Free & Reduced (F&R) meals.

The F&R Meals Application is more than just a lunch. Students who qualify for F&R meals may also be eligible to receive other benefits, including reduced ASB, sports, and AP exam fees, as well as a variety of benefits in their local communities. Certain school funding is also closely linked with student F&R meal rates.

Federal law requires all students to have access to meal applications, and Everett Public Schools encourages all families to apply for benefits, if they believe they are eligible. September is a critical time to connect with families seeking benefits, as district F&R rates are finalized in October. CNEEB Applications and informational post cards have been delivered to every school office. Families may also complete applications online by visiting www.myschoolapps.com.

The online application is available in seven languages.

Seattle Children's Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic Seattle Children's Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic

Seattle Children’s is happy to announce the opening Sept. 30 of a new Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic, the first pediatric-focused psychiatric urgent care in Washington state. We hope you will share this information with your teams.

What: Same-day in-person and virtual (video) visits providing mental and behavioral health crisis assessment, initial treatment recommendations and referral to follow-up resources in the community. Care is provided by our experienced team of licensed mental health therapists, family advocates/case managers, psychiatric advanced practice providers (APPs) and medical assistants.

Who: Designed for youth ages 4 through 17 who are experiencing a mental health crisis and need same-day intervention but do not need the services of an emergency department (ED). We care for all Washington youth ages 4 through 17, including children and teens with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities.

When: Open daily from noon to 8 p.m.; closed on major holidays.

Where: We see youth in person at Seattle Children’s Magnuson, located at 6901 Sand Point Way NE in Seattle, and through video visits from anywhere in Washington state. We recommend scheduling a same-day in-person appointment online or getting in the virtual line for a video visit. We have very limited capacity to see walk-ins and cannot guarantee walk-in access.

Please encourage families who live outside the Seattle area to use the virtual/video option. They must be physically in Washington state during the video visit.

How: Before scheduling a visit, learn whether to go to Psychiatric Urgent Care or an ED. A referral is not required.

  • For in-person visits, schedule a same-day appointment online. (Scheduling opens at 12:01 am daily.)
  • For video visits from anywhere in Washington state, get in the virtual line to be seen. (The first spots in virtual line open at 11:30 am daily.)
  • Please note that spots in the virtual line will open up throughout the clinic day, please encourage youth and families to regularly check back for availability.
  • Please note we have very limited capacity to see walk-ins and cannot guarantee walk-in access. Please encourage patients/families to schedule an in-person appointment online or get in the virtual line to be seen for a video visit.

Why: This new service – the first of its kind in the Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho region – is part of Seattle Children’s ongoing commitment to building out the continuum of care to ensure children and teens receive the right level of care at the right time. Psychiatric Urgent Care is intended to connect children and teens in Washington state to faster crisis assessment and follow-up resources in the community.

Please note that patients seen in the Psychiatric Urgent Care Clinic will not access other outpatient psychiatry services at Seattle Children’s faster than those referred through the normal process.
