Cherry Elementary Student Council is excited to announce our first school wide activity. Starting Monday, November 4th through Tuesday, November 12th, students will have the opportunity to purchase a feather for a dollar to put on any staff member’s turkey. Students can purchase feathers in the morning starting at 7:05 at the Learning Stairs. The staff member with the most feathers will have to dress like a turkey for the day on November 22nd. The money raised will be used to make campus improvements. We would love everyone to participate in this fun project and cannot wait to see who has to dress like a turkey!

Picture Day Retakes will be November 13th.

We will have picture retakes on November 13th in the morning at school! If you are new to our campus or if you were absent on our last picture day, it's ok! You will get your picture take for our yearbook.

If you would like to purchase pictures we will have a flyer that will go home in student backpacks soon. Be on the lookout for that.

The next science fair workshop will be November 7th from 5:00-5:30 in Mrs. Oliver’s room A202.

Science fair is for all students in the K-5th grade, so siblings could complete one project together.

Our counselor, Mrs. Richardson, runs Cherry's Care Closet. If you would like to contribute, check out the wish list that she has put together.

We are proud to partner with the YMCA on our after school care program at every elementary campus! This program replaces EDP. The YMCA After School Care Program will serve students in PreK to 12 years old in a safe and nurturing environment in conjunction with the school calendar.

Program Details:

- Serves students PreK to 12 years of age

- Follows the School Calendar

- From the dismissal bell until 6:30 p.m.

- $71 per week, $5 off per sibling, 50% off RCISD employee rate
