IMPORTANT!! OPT-IN FOR TEXTING - STAY INFORMED AND CONNECTED
In an effort to always be prepared to deliver timely/emergency communications, the district contracts with two mass communication vendors - our primary vendor, Blackboard, and a secondary vendor, School Messenger (to be used in the event of an outage with our primary system). These tools enable us to contact you via email, voice mail, and SMS (text message), including during a crisis.
School Messenger requires that all recipients opt-in to receive text messages. Please take a moment to opt-in from your device for text messages so that we are able to reach you when important or emergency information arises if we need to use the School Messenger system.
Opting in is quick and easy - just text “Y” or “Yes” to our school’s short code number, 67587.
25-26 Reading + Craft Session Information
Again this year, we are inviting families with children ages birth through five (5) to join us for drop-in reading and craft sessions at our Early Childhood program (located at May Whitney Elementary School, 200 Church St, Lake Zurich, IL 60047). Families will participate in a read-aloud with their child, followed by a craft and songs/play. Resources regarding developmental milestones will be made available to families, parents will have the opportunity to ask questions of our early childhood team regarding any unique needs for their child(ren), and all kids will get to take home a book!
Please see the flyer linked HERE for information on all session dates, as well as a link to pre-register for sessions. Parents/guardians are required to remain on site for the session (these are not drop-off events).

October Student of the Month
Each month, District 95 asks every building to select a student who represents our District Values of collaboration, continuous improvement, equity, high expectations, integrity, perseverance, and respect. For the month of October, Spencer Loomis chose Second Grader, Hannah C.
Hannah is a shining example of kindness in our classroom. Every day, she treats her classmates and teachers with respect and is always ready to lend a helping hand. Hannah comes to school with a big smile and an eagerness to learn. Her excitement for learning is contagious and inspires her classmates to stay curious and engaged. Hannah also goes above and beyond to support her peers, whether by offering encouragement, explaining directions, or celebrating their successes. She truly embodies the Portrait of a Graduate by being an effective communicator, a caring advocate for herself and others, and a growth-oriented learner.

November Gratitude Project
It’s hard to believe the holiday season is just around the corner! This time of year often inspires us to reflect on what we’re grateful for and to share our appreciation with others.
This year, the PTO is creating a bulletin board centered on the theme of GRATITUDE — the quality of being thankful; a readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.
We’d love for families to participate! Please print the template below and have your student either draw a picture or attach a photo that represents what they’re thankful for. Be sure to include your child’s name and classroom on the back. All submissions will be displayed on the bulletin board near the front office for everyone to enjoy. Bring completed projects to school and turn into your classroom teacher. These will then be delivered to the front office. DUE DATE: Before November 18
If you’re interested in exploring gratitude together at home, we’ve included a list of recommended books below.
