Principal Message
September is here, and we are off to a fabulous start at Gleason! Our students have been settling into routines, building new relationships, and are showing us what it means to work hard, make good choices, and take pride in our school.
As we move into our first full month of learning, we remain focused on high expectations, solid first instruction, and creating a school where every student feels safe, supported and successful. Thank you, parents and families, for your continued partnership and for helping us start the year strong.
We are also seeing many students arrive on time and ready to learn — it truly sets the tone for a successful day. Just a friendly reminder: students should be in the building by 8:45 a.m. We will begin issuing tardies for all car riders and walker/bikers who are not in the building by 8:45 a.m. Please ensure you drop your child off at a time that will allow this to occur. Arriving on time allows your child to settle in, connect with classmates, and be fully prepared when learning begins.
Don’t forget — our dismissal time is 4:05 p.m. To ensure a smooth and safe dismissal for all students, we ask that:
-
Walkers and bikers are picked up no later than 4:15 p.m.
-
Car riders are in the car rider line by 4:15 p.m.
Car rider parents must utilize the car rider tag given. If a number is not provided, parents will have to park and come inside.
This routine helps us keep dismissal safe and efficient, while also allowing our staff the necessary time to prepare for the next school day. Thank you for your support and cooperation as we work together to keep the end of our day organized and positive for everyone!
Thank you again for a fantastic start to the school year.

Digital Citizenship Week
The week of September 21st-25th, CFISD will be providing lessons on how to be a digital citizen. We will discuss the importance of taking care of our technology along with the importance of being respectful online, reporting unsafe behaviors and protecting private information like their address. Please help us reinforce digital citizenship by continuing the conversation and allowing your children to dress up as a promise to be digitally responsible.
Volunteer Opportunity for Career Day

As part of the counseling curriculum, we introduce elementary students to careers and educational opportunities. Our goal is to plant the seed that ALL students can further their education and show them a variety of occupations. This is where we need your help. We are looking for presenters. Would you or someone you know be interested in presenting? If so, please click here to fill out the interest form and someone will reach out to you.

PBIS
What an incredible start to the 2026-2027 school year! We are so proud of our Gleason Tigers for working so hard to learn our school-wide expectations, referred to as R.O.A.R.
R.O.A.R. stands for Respectful, On Task, Accountable, and Responsible. This month, our focus will be on learning and practicing the different matrices throughout our building. Below is our classroom matrix. Talk with your child(ren) about the expectations in the classroom. Have your child think about how they can help themselves, their peers, and their teacher by following the classroom matrix.
PBIS is in full swing! Our staff is rewarding about 5,000 Tiger Bucks a day! Students have the opportunity to earn Tiger Bucks from anyone in the building when they are seen R.O.A.R.ing. Tiger Bucks can be spent on items from their classroom stores and the school-wide ROAR Store. Students will need to wear their badges all day so that they can be scanned to earn bucks. Please talk with your child about ways to take care of their badge throughout the school day.
We strive to celebrate all students, as well as motivate and encourage them to do their best. PBIS is working hard on collecting student feedback and planning our 1st 9 Weeks Raffle and Pack Party!
Raffles are an exciting way to motivate students to show their ROAR by raffling off popular items. During a live Zoom, ROARY picks the name of the lucky winner to come claim their reward! Our first Raffle will be October 8th.
PBIS Raffle
At the end of every 9 weeks, we have a Pack Party during large group time. Requirements for the Pack Party include:
0 office referrals
0 CDR
0 Bus Reports
No more than 4 marks on their ROAR report
No more than 2 absences
No more than 5 total tardies, leave earlies, and/or late pickups
Students who do not meet the requirements will not attend the Pack Party. Instead, they will follow their homeroom large group schedule and attend Art or Music. We are looking forward to our first Pack Party on October 23rd!
We have so many other great opportunities coming up this school year that we cant wait to share with you. We look forward to another year of celebrating our Gleason Tigers!
