A Message from the Principal
Dear Parkwood Parents and Guardians,
As we wrap up another incredible school year, I want to sincerely thank you for trusting Parkwood Elementary School to educate, support, and care for your child each and every day. It is truly an honor to partner with our families in helping our students learn, grow, and succeed.
This year has been filled with so many wonderful moments and accomplishments for our students. From academic growth to leadership opportunities, performances, celebrations, and everyday classroom successes, our students have continued to shine in so many ways. Their resilience, kindness, and hard work make Parkwood such a special place.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead such an amazing school community. The support, encouragement, and partnership from our families mean so much, and I appreciate all you do to help make Parkwood a place where students feel valued, supported, and loved.
As we look ahead to the 2026–2027 school year, I am excited for all that is to come, especially as we begin this new chapter together in our beautiful new building. I know that with such an outstanding community of students, staff, and families, the best is still ahead for Parkwood.
Thank you again for an amazing year. I hope you and your family have a safe, restful, and joyful summer break. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back next school year! For the students and families leaving Parkwood for middle school, thank you for a fantastic year and I wish the students the best in all of their future endeavors!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Kylaina Walker
IDOE Parent Portal
Parent Portal
Letters were mailed home about accessing the ILEARN/IREAD/IAM Parent Portal. ILEARN Checkpoint 3 Results and Spring IREAD scores are available on the portal. Results will no longer be mailed home since this online portal is available for families. If you have any questions, please reach out to the school.
IREAD Versus ILEARN
Parents,
IREAD is a third grade reading test. It is the test that students take in third grade with the Indiana retention laws. ILEARN is a reading, math, science, and social studies test that 3rd through 5th graders take. It does not have retention laws attached to it. Please reach out to the office or your child's teacher if you have questions. Thanks!
Parkwood Memory Walk Night
Our Memory Walk night was a great success! Thanks for everyone in the community who came to share memories, relive old times, and have a great evening of friendship!
