Dear Wauwatosa Montessori School Family:

Helen Keller reminded us that: “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” We are pleased to share that we are at around $9,000 for our Fun Run fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who has helped us reach this exciting point. Your donations are truly appreciated. That means we have some collective work to do this weekend! Our goal is $17,000! Every little bit helps. This fundraiser is about field trips, events, being the best we can be, recognizing and treating our amazing staff, and most importantly, our community. Anne Frank said, “No one ever became poor by giving.” Please consider doing just a little more to support our fundraising efforts! We’re almost there. We can do this!

This week we celebrated our 8th graders at their Capstone and 8th grade graduation night. We are so very proud of them. Thank you to their Ms. Dawson, Mrs. Myers, and Ms. Ionina for spending the evening honoring our students and celebrating the culmination of the 8th graders’ capstone projects. Thank you to all the families who came out to partake in the evening!

Ms. Brenner and Mrs. Namboothiry’s classes put together their National Park Expo this week. The UE students’ interactive presentations were inspiring to all. We had a wonderful turnout of families to come and listen to the students’ presentations. Please take a moment to look at the pictures below!

Our Green Team has been working closely with a program that facilitates reusing clothes called Clothes Bin. The team successfully brought a Clothes Bin to our school! Clothes Bin donated $100 to our school Green Team, and every pound of clothes or shoes donated raises $.07 for our Green Team. The join is open for clothing and shoe donations now! Please consider donating!

Next week Wednesday, 6/5 from 4:30-5 p.m. I’ll be hosting an informational meeting to share our District Adminstration's Task Force Recommendations. I’d like to invite families to this virtual meeting to listen to our District Adminstration’s Task Force Recommendations. Families interested in learning more are encouraged to join on this link.

Fun Run update: We are at $9000, just past 50% of our $17,000 fundraising goal! Thank you so much to our families and community. So far, Ms. Yifan’s class is in the lead. Mrs. Grassman and Ms. Rosich’s class is not far behind in second place. We are hopeful that we can still make our goal!

Get donations for the Fun Run

Try asking friends, family, coaches, local businesses or anyone you know to help support the school and PTSA. Any amount helps! The money raised through this fundraiser helps us provide bussing for school field trips, put on school community building events like Trunk or Treat, show appreciation to our WMS teachers by stocking the teacher's lounge, giving additional stipends for classroom support and more.

We can accept checks (made out to Wauwatosa Montessori School PTSA), cash and Venmo (@WauwatosaMontessori-PTSA). Just send it along to school with your child's name and classroom on it or mention it in the Venmo comments.

We had 12 Montessori parents at the school district listening session on Tuesday. Thank you to the families that were able to support this effort to make our presence known.

Summer Book Checkout

To promote reading all summer, students have the opportunity to check out up to 10 books for the summer. These books can be enjoyed all summer! Students and parents must sign and return the Summer Book Contract.

Don't forget students also have access to Sora over the summer. Sora offers books for everyone including e-books, audiobooks, e-readers for our early readers and e-magazines. Sora directions
