Keeping a Pulse on Student Life at WMHS! 10/17/2025
Welcome to Our Heartbeat Newsletter!
If you're new here—welcome! Every Friday, we send out our Heartbeat of the Wildcat newsletter to keep you informed and connected. Each edition includes highlights of what’s been happening around the school during the week, as well as important updates and upcoming events.
Stay tuned and thank you for being part of our Wildcat community!
Around the Halls
Studying the bones of the skull in Human Biology.
6th graders completed a choice board to further explore Ancient Mesopotamia!
Seventh graders read and annotated Forrest Fenn's poem, which serves as a treasure map. They examined the nine clues to figure out where Fenn may have hidden his treasure and also analyzed an article about the famous treasure hunt.
Students in Computer Networking, a CCP UC Early IT course, are learning about subnetting. This is the perfect time of the year to learn subnetting and CIDR notation because you can learn CIDR while drinking apple cider!
Morgan Eilerman and Mandy Ervin represented our school at the All Ohio School Counselor State Conference, where they led a session on Creating Opportunities for Student Leadership. Their presentation highlighted Wildcat Lead, showing practical ways to empower students, foster collaboration, and build a strong culture of leadership within schools.
Students in Life Skills completed two cooking passport challenges by making homemade chicken alfredo including homemade fettuccine.
CCP Biology students are using bubbles to show the behaviors of cell membranes.
Seventh and eighth grade gifted students are working on building flotation devices using milkweed. Milkweed was used during World War II to build life preservers when supply lines were cut from Southeast Asia. Young kids were sent into the fields to collect the milkweed fluff.
Physical science students are studying energy transfers by making ice cream. #yummyscience
CCP biology students celebrated pink out last Friday by studying the diffusion of materials in and out of cells of different sizes. #thinkpink
Thankful for our Wildcat Family! 🐾
