Message from Mr. Imbusch
Dear students, staff, and parents/guardians:
If you are someone who gets a wonderful, restful night’s sleep every night, then count yourself lucky. If, however, you are like me and either struggle to get to sleep or to maintain that sleep through the night, then I encourage you to listen to this podcast. In it, Dr. Matthew Walker, Ph.D., professor of neuroscience and psychology and founder of the Center for Human Sleep Science at the University of California, Berkeley, discusses the essential role that sleep plays in our overall health. After covering the basics in episode 1, the second episode explores how to improve one’s sleep. Each episode is long, but well worth listening to.
A reminder that our 2024 Summer Program brochure can be found here. There are a few enrichment courses that might be of interest to students - Get it Done (Fast-Forward your College Application), College Essay Workshop, and Film-Making. Also, we have added Common App Supplements and Supplemental Essays that will run in August.
Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Stephen Imbusch
Principal
PAC Reminder - Help say THANK YOU to the WHS Staff!
The PAC is excited to host the Staff Appreciation luncheon on May 17th to celebrate the wonderful WHS teachers and staff.
We thank those of you who have already made donations to support this fun annual event. As we do not participate in traditional fundraising efforts, our budget comes directly from the generous WHS community. Thank you for your help in showing the staff how much they are appreciated!
It’s not too late to make a family donation. Simply Venmo @Whs-Donations (include “PAC - staff appreciation” in the notes) or drop a check (payable to WHS PAC) at the office.
We’ll decorate the cafeteria and purchase delicious sandwiches, salads, and desserts from a local restaurant. As an additional token of appreciation, all staff members will receive a gift card. The staff looks forward to this special event every year.
With sincerest thanks,
Kathy Falvey, Eileen Heffernan, Nancy Niles
PAC Committee
