March Music Madness
We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Krzysiak is once again hosting March Music Madness! Inspired by the spirit of the tournament season, this school-wide event is designed to celebrate different genres, artists, and musical styles.
How it works:
Each school day during the month of March, two songs will be paired up in a "musical duel."
Students and staff will listen to the songs and cast their votes for their favorite.
The song with the most votes will advance to the next round of the bracket.
We will continue the "playoffs" until we crown the DuJardin 2026 Song of the Year!
We are excited to see which song takes home the championship trophy! Be sure to ask your child which song they voted for today.
IAR Assessment Week of March 16th
The week of March 16th, our students in grades 3–5 will take the Illinois Assessment of Readiness (IAR). This state-mandated assessment measures student proficiency in English Language Arts and Mathematics, providing us with valuable data to help support and grow our academic programs. We hope for perfect attendance this week to reduce the need for make-up assessments.
Meet the New Superintendent Community Forum
We are excited to invite you to a special "Meet the New Superintendent" Community Forum! This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome the new Bloomingdale School District Superintendent, Dr. Vicki King.
Event Details:
Date: Monday, March 16th
Time: 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Location: Erickson Elementary School
This event is open to all D13 families and community members.
Report Cards Visible in ALMA on Friday, March 13th
Trimester 2 report cards will be officially available to view in ALMA on Friday, March 13th. We encourage you to take some time to sit down with your student and review their report card together. This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate their hard work, highlight areas of growth, and set positive goals for the final trimester of the school year.
As always, if you have any questions regarding specific grades, progress, or the curriculum, please reach out directly to your child’s classroom teacher. They are your best resource for understanding how your student is performing in the classroom.

5Essentials Survey - Share your feedback with us -
Your voice is a vital part of what makes DuJardin Elementary a wonderful place for our students to learn and grow. We are currently conducting the 5Essentials Survey, and we need your input!
This survey is more than just a checklist; it’s an opportunity for you to share your perspective on our school’s climate, leadership, and instructional environment. Your honest feedback provides us with the data we need to celebrate our successes and target specific areas for improvement.
Please take a few moments to complete the survey at the link below. Thank you for your continued partnership and for helping us make DuJardin the best it can be!
Registration for 2026-2027 IS NOW OPEN!!!
Kindergarten Eligibility Children who will be five years of age on or before September 1, 2026, are eligible to enroll in Kindergarten for the upcoming school year.
New vs. Returning Student Portals To streamline the process, we have two distinct registration pathways:
New Student Portal: For families brand new to District 13.
Returning Student Portal: For any student currently enrolled in D13 during the 2025-2026 school year.
Important Note for Transitioning Students If your child currently attends a D13 school, they are considered a returning student. You should use the Returning Student Portal even if your child is moving from one building to another (for example, moving from DuJardin Elementary to Westfield Middle School OR moving from Preschool at Erickson to Kindergarten at Erickson or DuJardin).

- Health Office Website
Student Needs:
Please inform the nurse of any allergies or sensitivities to foods, medications, and environmental allergens. If there are any pertinent details of your students' health that you feel the nurse needs to know, please reach out and discuss this with the school nurse. This information can be helpful to better support your student throughout the day, if certain situations arise.
About Your Student’s Medication:
The district's medication administration policy mandates that all medication to be administered at school requires an MD order, this includes over-the-counter medications. Students may NOT keep over-the-counter meds in their backpacks or in their lockers--including cough drops, Advil, etc. This is an important safety concern! Please review the policy included in the registration process.
If your student requires an inhaler, Epi-Pen, or any oral medication, please obtain the medication form and appropriate health care plan from your physician when your child has their exam. Forms may also be obtained on the district website.
Excused Physical Education Class:
Please note that all PE excuses need to be sent to the Nurse's Office. A parent may excuse a student from PE for up to 3 days. (consecutively) Thereafter, a Doctor's note is required.

AR Reading Program
The Accelerated Reader (AR) program at DuJardin: Students in first-fifth grade can take AR tests on the books they read.
As students earn points, they can get rewards, including bookmarks, brag tags, and a chance to attend our special AR Night Out in January and the big End of Year Field Trip in May!
Mr. Pearlman will be going over the AR program during library with our First and Second grade students this coming week. Most books we have in the library are AR books and students can read the book and take a quiz to earn points. So, find a great book, get reading, and let's get those points!
Click here for more information about the AR program at DuJardin.
Please note: this is an optional reading incentive program.
