6 March '26
Hello QCVA Families,
As we wrap up Quarter 3, I want to express my gratitude for your continued partnership and the incredible dedication our students have shown. Our virtual scholars are awesome, and their hard work is visible in everything they achieve. Please make the most of this upcoming Spring Break by doing whatever is best for your family to rest and renew.
Immediately following the break, we will begin state testing, so please be aware that you may receive logistical communications during the week off. We need your unwavering support once more to ensure students arrive on time and remain present for the duration of their sessions. Completing these assessments is vital, as they serve as a powerful reflection of both your child’s hard work and our school’s academic growth. These tests allow our students to showcase the skills they have mastered throughout the year while fulfilling essential state requirements. Your encouragement helps them approach these milestones with confidence and focus.
Have a wonderful and refreshing Spring Break!
Warm regards,
Kevin Aikins
Principal, Queen Creek Virtual Academy

Spring Break March 9 to 20
Congratulations to all our students on successfully reaching the end of Quarter 3! We especially want to celebrate those who have stayed on pace and achieved great success this quarter—your dedication and hard work have truly paid off. For those who are currently off-pace, we encourage you to use some of your Spring Break to catch up, ensuring you are ready to hit the ground running for the final stretch. Quarter 4 always moves quickly, so now is the perfect time to give your best effort and finish the semester strong.
While our staff takes this time to recharge, facilitators will have limited availability; please continue to reach out via email, but expect some delays in our responses. State testing begins immediately after the break, so please keep a close eye on your emails and school announcements for important updates.
We are so proud of everything you have accomplished so far and wish everyone a safe, restful, and rejuvenating Spring Break. We can't wait to see you back and ready for a fantastic final quarter!

In Person State Testing Dates
Arizona’s statewide assessments serve as a vital tool to measure the effectiveness of our school's instruction and the progress of student learning. These assessments are aligned with Arizona’s Academic Standards and are required by both state and federal law to ensure all students are meeting essential educational milestones. We encourage all parents and families to mark their calendars for the upcoming testing dates and to help their children prepare by visiting the official Arizona Department of Education website at http://www.azed.gov/assessment/parents. Please be aware that all state tests are administered in person at Newell Barney College Prep to maintain a secure and focused testing environment. Stay tuned, as more detailed information regarding the specific schedule and testing logistics will be shared with our community very soon.
Resources for State Testing Prep
It is completely natural for students to feel some pressure regarding state testing, but the best way to reduce anxiety is through familiarity. We strongly encourage all students to begin exploring the TestNav platform on their own devices. TestNav is the online platform where state testing will be administered. By using the student readiness tools and taking practice tests, students can get comfortable with the digital interface, the variety of question formats, and the specific types of content they will encounter. Whether your student is in grades 3–8 taking the AASA and AzSCI, a 9th grader taking the ACT Aspire, or an 11th grader preparing for the ACT and AzSCI, starting your review now is the key to a stress-free experience.

These tests are an excellent way to see how the Edgenuity curriculum is meeting our students' needs and to ensure everyone is mastering the skills required for their grade level. We believe in our students' abilities and are here to support you through every step of this process. Let’s work together to finish this testing season strong—we know our students are capable of great things!
!!! STATE TESTING REMINDERS for STUDENTS !!!
To ensure a smooth and successful testing experience for our students, please review the following guidelines:
Prepare Early: Please familiarize yourself with the TestNav platform before test day. Note that proctors are strictly prohibited from assisting with technical or content questions once the assessment begins.
Punctuality is Key: Arrive on time to find your assigned seat and settle in with your testing group.
Note for Grade 11 ACT: Per state regulations, students may not enter or begin the exam once the testing group has started.
Personal Electronics: To prevent test invalidation, all personal devices—including phones, earbuds, and smartwatches—will be collected before the test and returned once testing concludes. Keeping these items on your person during the exam is not permitted.
Breaks: Students are permitted to take bathroom breaks during the test as needed. There are also scheduled, assigned breaks throughout the session.
Snacks: Students may bring nut-free snacks and drinks to stay fueled during the day.
Testing Duration: Students must complete their current test unit and remain in the testing room for the duration of the testing window; early departures are not permitted.
Extended Time (Grades 3-8): For AASA and AzSCI tests, students are permitted to extend their testing window if needed. In these cases, parents/families may need to wait briefly while their student finishes the assessment.
Dismissal: After testing is complete, students will remain supervised in the testing room until their ride or pick-up has arrived.
