Six Flags Field Trip Information
Answers to (hopefully) all your questions
Hello 8th grade families! Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about the 8th grade outing to Six Flags in Vallejo on Friday, April 18:
- When is the trip? Friday, April 18th from about 10:30am-7:30pm (Students should come to school on time as usual and buses will leave from school.)
- How will students get to Six Flags? Buses will be provided
- Is there a cost? If possible, we're asking each 8th grade family to donate $50 - this amount helps cover Six Flags admission and transportation, as well as costs for Promotion and Picnic in the Park. Make your donation here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=85M9PS9W6VWLN . Financial assistance is available; please contact 8thgradeactivities@monterapto.com for details. It's not too late to pay for the trip and/or request financial assistance - we want every 8th grader to be able to join, as long as they have met the behavioral expectations.
- How do I purchase a ticket? Although the robocalls mentioned the need to buy a ticket, your donation to 8th grade activities (see above) is your "ticket purchase."
- If my student has a season pass to Six Flags, can they use that instead of making a donation? No, sorry.
- Should I send a lunch with my student? Six Flag does not allow any outside food or drinks in the park. Please keep in mind that Six Flags is cashless, so if your student wants to purchase food they'll need a credit or debit card, or they can bring cash and convert it to a pre-paid debit card at a kiosk in the park. For more information on park policies, please see https://www.sixflags.com/discoverykingdom/plan-your-visit/park-policies
- Where do we get permission slips? Permission slips are available in the main office by Ms. Ida's attendance window. Please get them signed and returned asap.
- Is this trip for all students? All 8th grade students who've met the behavioral expectations are invited to Six Flags.
- Do you need chaperones? We do! We have a number of free tickets set aside for chaperones. If you can help with the trip, please fill out our volunteer form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfeu7q5aJa18xUp4MxsMiaBacGeFeqvBSEo8M5FwGRXdiHYEQ/viewform and we'll be in touch.
- What are the details for promotion, the picnic and the dinner dance? You can find information about other 8th grade events on the website at https://montera.ousd.org/students/8th-grade-activities
