The Lemon Crest ROAR
*Friday, May 28, 2026*
A Message from Principal Price
Dear Lemon Crest Families,
This time of year always goes by so quickly! We now have only 8 days left of the school year! Our state and local testing is complete for the year, so we are now focusing on great behavior until the last day, and making great memories with each other! Students have been working so hard this year to show great behavior, and we had our last Positive Office Referral party this afternoon! The Positive Office Referrals have been something that has been really successful, so we will continue doing Positive Office Referrals for the 2026-2027 school year! Here is some quick data from this and last year:
In 2024-2025 we had 66 Positive Office Referrals total
In 2025-2026, we’ve had 333 Positive Office Referrals this year!!!
Yesterday was our 5th grade Business Fair, and it was so fun to see the creations that our 5th graders made! Big shout-out to our 5th graders and the 5th grade teachers for this great experience for our Lions.
5th Grade Promotion is coming!
- Monday, June 8 at 8am
- Families will need to get their child to the Rodeo ground BY 7:30am; please arrive early; we cannot provide transportation!
- Feel free to have your student dress up!
- After Promotion is over, there will be a sign-out sheet to take your child home to celebrate; teachers will have a sign-out sheet!
- Here's info from the district regarding the Rodeo Grounds: As we prepare to celebrate our students during the upcoming promotion ceremonies, we would like to remind everyone that confetti, glitter, confetti poppers, and similar materials are not permitted during events held at the rodeo grounds. These materials create significant cleanup challenges and can be harmful to animals that utilize the rodeo grounds before and after our events. Small pieces of confetti and glitter may be accidentally ingested by animals and can negatively impact their health and safety. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and respectful environment for both our community and the animals at the facility. Families and guests are being asked to celebrate in alternative ways that are safe and environmentally friendly. Please do not bring any of these items to promotion!
Our LAST ALL-School Assembly is this coming Friday, June 5 at 8am on the blacktop! We will be celebrating Lions who had perfect (and near-perfect) attendance, students who reclassified from being English Learners, classes with the highest attendance for May and more! We hope you can join us!
Thank you to the parents who filled out this super-quick survey to share your end-of-year thoughts with us so we can keep making improvements at our school! So far there are only 9 survey responses. If you can take a quick 5 minutes, we would appreciate it!

Shaping the Future of Lakeside Schools Together!
LC Families, please read the below message from our School Board: In Lakeside, we know our schools are more than buildings—they are the heartbeat of our community, where our students’ dreams take flight. As your Board of Trustees, we are dedicated to serving you and ensuring every family, student, and staff member has a seat at the table. We’ve made great strides this year by focusing on: · Career Pathways: Expanding Technical Education in our middle schools to prepare students for the workforce. · Supportive Environments: Prioritizing social-emotional well-being and behavioral support to help everyone thrive in the classroom. · Academic Excellence: Staying committed to innovation and grade-level mastery for every child. Now, we are looking ahead and need your guidance to help us set the right goals for the next chapter of our district. Your feedback ensures that our focus remains tailored to our students' unique needs. How can you help? Please take a few minutes to complete our community survey. Your voice is the key to helping our students reach for the stars! Take the Survey or visit https://www.lsusd.net/ #LakesideUnion #LUSD #CommunityFirst #FutureLeaders #LakesideCA
Our school counseling team, Ms. Teresa & Ms. Tami, have been busy with ongoing class lessons around bullying prevention, showing kindness to others, not excluding others and being respectful problem solvers! Our counselors also do individual check-in's with students, small groups and grade-level gatherings!

Lemon Crest proudly partners with a few community organizations to help support families to cover basic household needs including food and hygiene items. We do require parental consent for students to access these resources, which include weekend snack bags, food boxes, and a variety of personal care products. If interested, email the school counselor, Ms. T at tpfab@lsusd.net or complete a request form, available in the main office.

Contacting Teachers & Principal Price
If you have a question or concern about your child, we encourage you to speak with your child's teacher first. Please note that during the instructional day, teachers and staff may not be able to respond to your message, email or call since they are busy doing what they do best: teaching! Your child's teacher will respond to you when they are able. Thank you for understanding!
Contacting Principal Price:
Email: jprice@lsusd.net
Call the Front Office: (619) 390-2527 - The front office staff will take a message, and Principal Price will call you when she is available
In-Person: Call the office so Mrs. Whitehurst or Ms. Madina can help us set up a meeting so I can dedicate time to you!
Many of your questions may be answered in our Lemon Crest Family Handbook A-Z . We ask that all families read this.
Please know that there is a 24-48 hour "grace period" in my response time. When I respond, call or meet with you, I need time to get informed in order to have possible answers to your questions. I am prioritizing getting to know our students so I can support their success and am often not readily available in the office. Thank you for your understanding and support.
Theme for the Year: Planting Possibility
This year, our school's theme is Planting Possibility, inspired by the children's book, Curious Garden, written by Peter Brown. Click the link below for a read-aloud of the book by Principal Price!
