The Barton School Scoop February 3rd, 2023

Happy Friday CBE! Happy Friday CBE!

We kicked off February 1st at Clara Barton with World Read Aloud Day! Our CBE Literacy Committee organized a school wide Read Aloud collection on Google Classroom featuring all our CBE staff! Students had the opportunity to log in and listen to some wonderful books read by teachers and other staff at Barton!

We are also celebrating Black History Month! Check out some of our CBE students in Dr. Meloche's Minute this week!

Looking ahead at next week we have some fun events! First grade is hosting their Chick & Duck Cafe on Tuesday 2/7 and there is a CBE PTA dance for our K-3 students on Friday 2/10. Check out the flyer below.

Have a wonderful weekend!

ZONES OF REGULATION ZONES OF REGULATION

Learning about the Zones of Regulation with Mrs. McComb! Learning about the Zones of Regulation with Mrs. McComb!

This curriculum provides us an easy way to think and talk about how we feel on the inside and sort these feelings into four colored Zones, all of which are expected in life. Once we understand our feelings and zones, we can learn to use tools/strategies to manage our different Zones in order to meet goals like doing schoolwork or other tasks, managing big feelings, and healthy relationships with others. The simple, common language and visual structure of The Zones of Regulation helps make the complex skill of regulation more concrete for learners and those who support them.
