April is here, and that means that the 2021-2022 school term is nearing the end. During our final five weeks, we will continue with strong academic instruction. In addition, the calendar is full of testing, special activities, and programs. Thank you for ensuring that your students are well-rested and dressed for the ever-changing Indiana weather!

It was wonderful to see so many of you at Kdg. Screening, the Book Fair, Donuts with Dad, and the PTO Matball game. AC is blessed beyond measure with quality support from the community and your commitment to the success of your students is evident.

We are excited to begin working with Brightwheel, an educational app, to improve our communication and billing services for preschool and latchkey. Families with students in these programs can expect to receive an email soon with directions to set up an account.

Brightwheel includes a parent-teacher communication tool similar to Remind and also includes billing and an online payment option.

As we transition to this app, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns.

This semester will include State Testing such WIDA, I AM, IREAD-3, and ILEARN. It is essential that students are present during these testing windows.

I AM and WIDA testing have longer testing windows and students are pulled mainly on an individual basis. If your child is to take I AM, you will already have been made aware of this during discussions with the classroom teacher. WIDA score reports will be available soon.

Grade level testing takes place for IREAD-3 and ILEARN each spring.

Grades 2 and 3 completed IREAD-3 on March 15 and 16. Parents, if you did not receive your student's IREAD-3 Individual Score Report in the mail, please contact the elementary office.

Parents/Caregivers are invited to complete a digital Academic Needs Assessment Survey. Responses are voluntary and will assist IDOE with planning for grants, resources, and training to assist school corporations with addressing the academic impact of these identified student populations during the 2022-2023 school year. Surveys may be accessed using the link above and must be submitted by 4 p.m. ET on Friday, April 22.

4th Annual 5th Grade Students vs Elementary Staff Basketball Game w/ Meal featuring 2 Pour Guys, Silent Auction, & Concessions.

This year 5th Graders are participating as Basketball Players, in the 5th Dimensions, in the 5th Grade Band, and as the 5th Grade Cheerleaders! The entire Elementary is invited to come and enjoy the evening.
